Default Flexi-8!!

i searched these on here and all the threads i saw were really old, so i decided to start a new one since im interested in these! on the website, most of the pictures were of straighties and wavies, so i'm wondering just how effective are these on curly hair? wouldn't our curly manes get tangled in the beads? and im also wondering about the sizing. ive got thick medium-coarse hair that goes to the point of my shoulder blades(when dry).
based on the sizing from the website, my ponytail was the size of a quarter, so i would use a small for that. for a half-up half-down, i would think that i would need the extra small. the twist up type styles- i'd probably use the medium.
so when determining sizes, the website mostly says "such and such size" is best for fine hair, which i dont have. so should i go a size up for each size based on the website's "fine hair" sizing?
and lastly, i have dark brown hair that can look almost black inside with not that great lighting, and can look like a brown outside. what type of colors do you think would looke the best in my hair? do u think that flexi-8's that have black on them would look good with my hair color?
thanks in advance, i know its long (idk why i always do that! )

I have a bunch of these and love them. No, my hair doesn't get caught in the beads or clip.

If you are not sure of sizing, I highly recommend calling them or e-mailing them. They helped me out with sizing initially. My hair is prob thinner than yours. I use an XS for my pony and a small for my updo/twists.

When I used to color my hair, it was dark brown. I only bought solid silver beads or silver/black combos. I love them! I didn't go for any of the gold-colored or nickel-colored ones, but that was just my preference. I am sure they would look great with your hair also.

The great thing about Flexi's is that if you don't like the one you want you can exchange it with the company -- they have great CS -- or they sell/swap really well here at NC.com.

Thanks Spiralli. Is their website the only place to buy Flexi-8s firsthand?

I think I'm gonna order these... Eventually when I get around to asking my mom and dad...

So anyone else wanna give a verdict on their experiences with the Flexi-8? I'd love to hear how and why everyone loves or hates their flexi-8's and maybe some pics on the styles you've found with them too??

Oh, I will add that I love the adjustable-ness of the clip. The 3 notches help with snug hold, depending on if I have fluffy Day 1 hair, Day 2 hair, wet hair, etc.

OK, I will go away now.

I've had flexi 8's for like 4 or 5 years now and I love them. I bought one for a friend who has curly hair too and she loves it. I think maybe a 2 or 3 times a strand of hair has gotten caught in a bead but it wasn't as bad as a hair tie.

Ps I read that you are looking for a DT.

I picked up Garnier Sleek and Shine (a new formula with Argan Oil) and I mixed it with my beloved Desert Essence Coconut Conditioner (you can get this at health food stores or online) for a DT and it worked like a dream. Another good one is Renpure in the Red bottle (you can get it at Walgreens) it does have protiens so I use it for a protien treatment.

Thank you abstractcurls! Next time I end up there I'll look at the Renpure and probably buy it lol. Dream Essence... I haven't heard of that so i'll prob look into that too. Have you tried other products by that company and liked them? And thanks for the Flexi-8 input - much appreciated!
