I think out of alll the drugstore products I've tried the one my hair hated the most was the Pantene Relaxed and Natural. Knowing what I know now, I can see why my hair didn't like it. BUT when I was in Middle School you couldn't tell me nothing. If a bottle told me anything short of a miracle and said it was for "black" hair I would buy it. When I use to CO wash w/ Pantene I had SO much build up, I could feel AND see the wax on my scalp. When I saw the new "Curl" line I knew that if this was 5 years ago I would have totally bought into that B.S and just blamed my hair. Pantene = Bottled Wax

I wouldn't recommend kccc I hate the consistency and the product made my hair very crunchy. A lot of ppl rave about it so I purchased it but I really regret it. I purchased it in November and I still have just about a full jar.

I do not recommend the Everyday Shea Moisturizing Conditioner in Lavender. I didn't find it to be very moisturizing and it gave me major knots.
Also, from the same line, the beautiful curls shea butter curl cream was wretched, everything from the scent to the residue to the major crunch.

I know a lot of people love it, but shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie caused my hair to come out.

Yeah.. I hated Herbal Essences Hello Hydration (frankly all the Herbal Essence stuff is a bust for me) I hate KCCC (and yet I have 3b/3c hair and tons of people with that hair type seem to love it), White Rain conditoners, Pantene Relaxed & Natural as well as the Regular Pantene line..ugh. Cantu Shea Butter, Carol's Daughter (hated everything I tried in this line and I tried a lot of it), Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Moisturizer.

If you mean me personally.. I like Tresemme Naturals, Giovanni, Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition, Aubrey Organics, Shea Moisture (in moderation), Suave Naturals conditioners, VO5 conditoners, natural oils like castor, olive, macadamian nut, almond, vitamin E, coconut oil (as a rinse out).
I'm a CG girl mainly..usually a lot of water based CG products work well for me..as well as water based products that include emollients.

Ecostyler Crystal, Olive Oil, & Argan Oil - all the ones with hold #10. Made my hair into a crunchy mess.
Cantu Shea Butter - Ick.

Also carol's daughter hair milk, tui hair oil and their thick oil. Made my hair dry and greasy at the same time.

A lot of her products are corn oil based which has no redeeming qualities.

I'm still trying to understand why Carol's Daughter effed up her products or allowed this big company to overtake her and do it. I'm still shaking my head at that... I thought in the beginning her products were natural and good ?
I know when I used them...about 2 years ago.. they were horrific. I spent a lot of money buying different products from the line and it all was money down the drain because all of it was basically a disaster on my hair...and if it wasn't that the damn smells were so potent I could barely breathe.

Its a mystery to me too. I remember using CD back in the early 2000s before I decided to wear my hair natural and I loved it. It took me through some tough transition phases during that time. I remember having to order it via mail order in the early, early days.
Too bad her products are a HAM now.

Re CD, I remember liking the Tui oil back in the day. Last year I bought a lot of her line for myself with locs and my curly son. Hated that hair balm, someone said it, made my son's hair greasy and dry at the same time. The milk was useless when I tried it on him last summer and that lemongrass smell is annoying. My hubby's aunt gave us a bottle the other day and I've been trying to use it up on him because I don't want to waste. May give it away. Love the Hair Mimosa for my son and loved Lisa's Hair Elixir in my scalp when I had locs. Still have some left, haven't used it since being curly. Recently tried the Monoi poo, got a trial bottle. I like it, makes my hair soft, u can detangle with it and I LOVE the smell. The dt in the same line, not so good. They have a new straightening line I may try, checked it out on Friday. Never ventured into her body products except for her browning oil, which is a hg for me when I go to the beach or want a tan I bought her membership when it was $5 back in Apr or May. You get 10% off every purchase... haven't bought anything yet though and there's a CD store not too far from me :/

I've never used Carol's Daughter but I looked at some samples at Sephora. I wasn't impressed at all....I first read the ingredients, saw the cones and that put me off. Then I smelled it. I saw milk and thought "oh it's probably going to have a nice vanilla or cream smell". NOPE just a strong, nauseating smell of LEMON pledge. My BF smelled it and he said it gave him a headache. Then the last straw was when I saw the price...I was like I'm not spending that much for cones and stinky hair

I am not a fan of miss jessie's stretch silkening cream. The local target was out of my beloved curly meringue so I decided to give it a try. My hair looked ok but it felt dry and coated. I tried it on my daughter's hair and it was an even bigger disaster. Her hair was dry and flaky.
I also would not recommend anything from Carol's Daughter. Everything I tried from that like left my hair either greasy and dry, or just dry.
