I like carols daughter healthy hair butter & the loc butter. Everything else from carols daughter line I hate. HE totally twisted& hello hydration are ok. Nothing to jump up and down about.

I did not like Tresemme Naturals as a leave in. However, I loved it as a rinse out. I probably won't rebuy it though as Trader Joe's does both.

Generally I don't like gels or mousse. I have never found a styling gel that is "moisturizing". Even the ones without alcohol make my hair crunchy.
I have had apl long curls and my hair was growing when I used these products, but I always ended up with split ends here and there. Regular styling products just don't work for me in the long run.

Cantu Shea Leave-In (did nothing for me), Carol's daughter hair milk (greasy and not moisturizing), Tresemme Naturals (good as a rinse out but not as a leave-in), KCCC (takes 4-ever to dry), Hawaiian Silky 14 and 1 (irritated my skin) Worlds of Curls Activator Gel (made my hair feel nasty), Beautiful Curls for Kinky Hair (not moisturizing enough for me).

And basically anything with heavy silicones or oils because I get build up very easily. Dimethicone is the devil.

Do not want:

Anything Miss Jessie's (Coats hair and does nothing for moisture. Plus I stay away from Mineral Oil.)
EcoStyler (Tried it because people were raving about it and it repeatedly left my hair a dry mess.)
Shea Moisture (The ones from Target - any of the leave-ins leave my hair dry-ish and I can't figure out which ingredients are causing it. I've tried multiple products from that line. Not to be confused with the SheaMoisture Shea Butter Leave In Conditioner in the white bottle, that works well for me... I still don't understand what the difference is between the two lines..)

I mainly just stick with KCKT and KCCC, my holy grail of leave-in/styler. They give me great moisture and curl definition. The effects of different rinse-out conditioners for me are almost negligible so I go with whatever is cheapest, without the cones and surfactants of course.

I agree, I love that it is affordable and easily to get for some curliest although that means nothing for me since it does absolutely nothing for my hair, I wish it did.

Shea Moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo. I don't think I've ever used a personal product with such a heavy chemical scent. Very ironic, to me, that it's supposed to be all extra organic and "natural" when it smells like a science experiment. It also made my hair extremely dry and tangled, a problem I rarely have with shampoo, no matter how cheap, synthetic, or random. Lastly, my scalp became irritated quite badly. I had some places that felt like Is had a fresh perm - sore and raw. Many sulfate free shampoos affect me this way.

Giovanni Deeper Moisture Conditioner. Very thick and heavy, and felt great going on, but actually left my cuticle raised to the point that the surface of my hair felt rough. Otherwise, it was just unmentionable.

Suave Naturals Coconut: Far too light for any sort of conditioning, in my book. Even when I add a bit of oil, it lacks luster...

^^ Wow, that is probably my fav shampoo. Leaves my hair so soft. It's the frankincense & myrrh you're probably not agreeing with. They are strong fragrances in general.
