Default Any 3c's use these methods?

Just wondering if any 3c curlies here use any of these methods that seem to work for the 2's and 3b's.

Plopping
Pixie curl diffusing method
SMasters consistently awesome hair technique

Just wondering?

I will plop occasionally if I'm in a hurry and need my hair to air dry a little faster. But usually I leave the house a bit drippy.

If you don't mind me asking, at what point in your routine do you plop and for how long? I want to try this since my hair takes forever to dry but I'm afraid it will make my hair frizzy.

Plopping is a hair drying technique that involves piling it atop your head and securing a towel or t-shirt around it. The basic idea is that it helps your hair dry, but also supports it so that it does not get stretched out and flat.

My hair hates plopping because the towel sucks all the product out of all my hair except right at the top of my head, resulting in frizzy hair everywhere with heavily concentrated flakes on my scalp. It is not flattering.

I do the pixie curl method of diffusing. I still get slight surface frizz with the KCCC, but it sure beats walking around with wet hair, and helps my WNG pony plump up nicely.

Plopping works for 3C? I didn't think it would. Guess you learn something new everyday! My sister is 3B, and she swears by it! It gives her the most defined ringlets! Now I have to try this!

Plopping works best if you use an old tshirt; a regular towel will cause more frizz. I don't get into the "hair typing thing" but if I had to guess my curls are either a 3 c or 4a and I always grab an old tshirt and plop after I've applied my last product to get rid of extra water.

When I plop I do not pile my hair up.. I just wrap/tie my silk scarf onto my hair with my hair laying flat. Once it's dry I fluff it up for volume.

I prefer not to plop. Stretches my curls out and leaves it somewhat frizzy. I towel blot it some, just so it doesn't drip water all over my back. Once it's damp I just leave it alone. I use Sheamoisture coconut smoothie & castor oil, comb thru with fingers and that's it. I prefer a style with more volume, so I separate the curls once they are dry.

Oh sorry, 3c... I just saw 3 in the title, wasn't really paying attention. I'm a 3b, if that matters.

Does this stretch your curls? And does the fluffing create frizz?

I'm not sure if it does that's why I was asking. I never see anybody here talking about it and it would be great if it did. I use to plop a while back and it worked great but then it stopped working and my it made my hair frizzy. I want to try again but I hate experimenting.

BTW, m_cruz2007, I love your blog.

I get slight stretcheing, and if you fluff only from the roots you don't get frizz.

For those of you 3c's that DO plop, are you doing it for better curl formation/definition or using it more as a drying aid?

Strictly for drying.. the curls ain't going anywhere, but they could be dry a little faster, hence the plop.
