OP is most definitely my hair twin. My hair looks exactly like yours, and as far as I've been told I'm 4a,but It's more of a mix for me; 3c/4a.
I think you're a 3c/4a mix. :P
It's the hardest thing to differentiate between 4a and 3c, I swear. >:T

7 month post BC update.

I am always being told how much my hair is growing but it feels like its growing slow. I have lots of shrinkage too. I love my natural hair. Best decision of my life by far. 😁💜🙆

I want to big chop so bad but I'm afraid I won't be able to style my hair adequately the way you ladies do! Maybe one day I'll get there! :-/

i love your hair! i would say 3c, you have curls like that without gel lol imagine if you used gel it would amplify your hair.

im going to post 2 short reviews and lots of pics to give you a better on understanding and visuals on the gels i use, i dont mean to hijack your post im just trying to help a fellow curly head!

i sometimes use this stuff called "curling Gelo" and eco styler gel i will post my short review on both.

So i found the Curling Gelo (CG) at a local BSS. i was a bit disappointed by the looks and smell of the gelo. i was expecting more of a KCCC consistency, since thats whats it compared to. the CG looked more like a thin gel for type 2/3 hair. im thinking my hair was going to laugh at this stuff. my hair is thick, dense, and curly so i just knew this wasnt going to work for my hair, i was wrong. i really liked the results i got from the product, felt like it took my hair forever to dry though and once it dried it was soft and felt productless. i like my hair to feel a bit greasy/silky but i didnt get that feeling with this product however i still like the overall feel. the smell is very loud okay, its a loud candy jello like scent. its kind of over bearing, it was smelling it throughout the day. the scent is so strong, thats the only draw back for me.
Cg photo1 1st application- damp hair

Now on to the eco styler
i love love love eco styler! its the bomb dot com okay, i use the one with argan oil

this is a thick gel and my hair loves it. my hair is very dense and the strands of hair are thick as well (thick and coarse). my hair likes thick gels for that reason, the problem i find with most gels are they look great when wet but then the hair dries hard and crunchy and tends to flake up as well (not cute lol) the eco styler doesnt do that at all, now sometimes it will get a bit stiff but stiff is fine, hard and crunchy isnt but like i said it only happens sometimes. eco syler along with kinky curly custard are the best products to define and hold my curls. i may try other products but i always go back to eco styler, its cheap plus my hair loves it! no crunch and no flakes!

wet hair without product

without product

wet hair with eco styler gel

eco styler with unrefined whipped shea butter<-- helps elongate curls

eco styler

i hope that helps you. i would def give eco styler a try. if you have money to spend on hair products then give kinky curly custard a try as well! happy experimenting
