Question Ready for a new cut - but need help!

My hair is ready for a cut, I've been growing it out and my last one was a simple cut with 2 longer layers. I'm going to cut a little longer than shoulder length (when straight) but I need to know: can I do layers?

My hair straightens VERY WELL, with a flat iron on medium it straightens very easily and people think that my hair is naturally straight.

But when it's curly, it's CURLY. Some spirals, some kinks, about the width of a sharpie.

What kind of cut should I get to flatter both of my styles?

I can dig up some pics if that will help.
