Leave-in Conditioners Share your results
I need leave-in conditioner, my hair is prone to dryness, and feels its healthiest when I apply a leave-in least at every few days.
What's working for You?
What consistancy does your hair like?
Does it provide curl defintion?, Moisture?, Protein?
Does it pair well with Gel or Stylers?
I notice my hair loves a light cream consistancy
Cantu Shea-butter leave in
-Protein& Moisture
-Plays well with Aloe vera Gel
Kimmaytube's LI with (Yes to Carrots, coconut oil, castro oil, & aloe vera juice)
-Moisture for days
-Plays well with Aloe vera Gel
how about you?

Great post~
I've been using GF TNutri as a rinse-some-of-it-out...then shea moisture deep treatment mask as a leave in, sealed with coconut oil, then gel if i want to stretch it out (braids).
I too have yet to use a product that is designed as a leave in conditioner that has worked...I will tell you that the Cantu Shea Butter Leave In was good for a couple weeks but it dried my hair out...and I was very upset as it was the first product I'd used AS a leave-in to give me good results. Also tried the Garnier S+S leave in and it didn't do anything worth mentioning.
The best leave in so far for me has been Mixed Silk Deep Conditioner. I'm trying to go cone free (and it helps that i love shea moisture) but it just has the consistency and the moisture that can't be beat....for now.
So..I too am looking for a legit (cheap) leave in. I was thinking Elasta QP feels like silk..

My siggie has my leave in listed. I just mix it with oil and apply to plopped hair, and comb through.

What's working for You?
Regular conditioners work best. Most "leave-in conditioners" aren't moisturizing enough for my hair. Usually they're too thin.
What consistancy does your hair like?
Thicker consistancies, creamy I'd say
Does it provide curl defintion?, Moisture?, Protein?
The thicker the conditioner the better the curl definition ,usually. My hair has never felt more soft and healthy. I really don't look out for protein, I just don't care that much about it I guess.
Does it pair well with Gel or Stylers?
My experience tells me that conditioner and gel don't like each other very well. It goes with creamy styling lotions, but maybe it was just my product choice.

ive made my own simple leave in that is AMAZING! adds so much shine n softness sooooo easy to detangle, doesnt weigh my curls down, gets rid of that dreaded fizz and gives me same sort of definition.
how i did it:
marshmallow root,
a natural condish
and EVOO infused with rosemary and peppermints

I use Kinky Curly Knot Today. It's a detangler/leave-in. I like it because it's organic, concentrated so a little goes a long way, makes my hair soft smooth shiny and moisturized. Not to mention my curls pop after every application : ). You can buy it from the curl mart or from whole foods or target. I usually use it before I use curly custard, but I don't like the ramen noodle look my curls have when I use the custard or any gel. So I'm about to keep using the knot today but with miss jessies curly meringue.

What's working for You?
Right now thicker conditioners (like Aussie Moist). I am using KimmayTube's leave-in recipe and Nexxus Humectress.
What consistancy does your hair like?
I err more on the watery leave-in's with an aloe vera base.
Does it provide curl defintion?, Moisture?, Protein? YES! I like the lighter leave-in's because I get more curl definition as opposed to heavier products. But I need the heavier products now for the winter months.
Does it pair well with Gel or Stylers? Yes it does. I use a homemade Eco Styler Custard on top of all my leave-in's. Its is so AWESOME!

I'm loving my Aussie rinse out as a leave in. My hair likes thick products, as lighter ones do nothing. My curls seem more defined and moisturized. My hair is really soft. No proteins, as I'm sensitive. My Aussie is just the best for me.

What's working for You?
My hair seems to like Tresemme Naturals Best. (My hair also loves Dr. Bronner's Lavender Leave-In, but it's much more expensive and I need to use A LOT for my big hair.)
What consistancy does your hair like?
Lighter conditioners in the 3C hair in the back. A little heavier for the 4A in the front.
Does it provide curl definition? Moisture? Protein?
Yes, curl definition and moisture, especially the 3C curls .
My local Walgreens finally brought the SheaMoisture line. I found that adding the Curl Enhancing Smoothie (which is pretty thick) gives the frizzier, more unruly 4A curls a little better definition and elongation.
Does it pair well with Gel or Stylers?
Yes, but the gel I use, Biotera Styling Gel, gets along well with any conditioner I've used.

What's working for You? KCKT and KCCC! Nothing detangles my hair like it, or leaves my hair moisturized for days…and nothing keeps my style in tact. It's my holy grail i also like Garnier Fructis' Pure Clean conditioner to detangle before i apply & leave KCKT in…it's heavy and that makes it easier for me to detangle.
What consistancy does your hair like? It depends. when I had less hair, my hair liked lighter conditioners b/c the creamy ones made it frizzy. now that i have more hair, i use creamy conditioners because my hair is easier to manage when it's weighed down.
Does it provide curl defintion?, Moisture?, Protein? I only use protein every once in awhile. But KCKT definitely gives me the moisture I need. still need to find a clean protein conditioner… maybe I'll try a Giovanni product.
Does it pair well with Gel or Stylers? i only use it with KCCC and it usually works beautifully

What's working for You?
Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave-In
What consistancy does your hair like?
Creamy and water-based.
Does it provide curl definition?, Moisture?, Protein?
Yes! My hair benefits from the moisturizing properties of this leave-in plus it contains protein which my fragile hair needs.
Does it pair well with Gel or Stylers?
Most definately. I personally pair the leave-in with Ouidad Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel and I get awesome results!
