need some guidance...more questions...
I think I finally have my routine down...YAY! But I am wondering if there are other things I need to do in order to have healthier curls and added shine.
So here goes:
1) I've read alot about marshmallow root...I'm guessing it's most commonly used as an RO...how do you make it? I'm headed to my local health food store this weekend and plan on buying some.
2) Coconut/jojoba/EVOO - how do I know if I need to use these on my hair and if so when? Are they better used as a 'pre-poo' DT, a sealer, or what?
3) With winter upon us...what are some awesome curl creme's for 3b'ers like me??? I finally have my recipe for FSG down pat, and I'm head over heels for this stuff, but I know in winter I will need products that help hold the moisture in even more.
I apologize in advance for all the questions....I just love getting input from other curlies....

i LOVE marshmallow root, i use it as a rinse, best way ive found so far is to soak it in cold water oveer night, then i boil it for a few minutes, then turn the heat off and leave it for a few minutes, then i boil it again and turn the heat right down, then ill leave it on a steady boil for 5 minutes then turn it down, i give it one more blast of hot then i strain it and use it when its cooled down.
my hair LOVES oils, my fav is argan, but i also use EVOO and have jsut gotten jojoba oil to try as well, i use it to seal my ends after i shower, i use it in the morning to refresh my curls, i use it during the day, i use it in hot oil treatments i just use it when my curls need a boost.
for winter and moisture, try adding honey in same how, in a dt or in hot oil treatments or somthing that wiill help with the moisture.
hope some of that helps

Hmmmm...
So let me ask you...
When you use the oils to seal your ends - do you use it before or after your LI?
How do you use it to refresh your curls?
I use EVOO in my OCM mix and jojoba as my moisturizer at night - so I have both of those available. I was thinking of using the jojoba (since it is lighter and absorbs pretty quickly) by just putting a couple of drops in my hands and going over my hair - but I don't want some big greasy mess on top of my head LOL!
Thank you for responding....

I use jojoba for skin and hair. Hows the ocm working for ya? I love it.
I wet my hair put in a bit of condish, let it set well i wash in the shower, then rinse some, not all, out. I wrap my hair in a t-shirt, get dress, then add a little jojoba through out my hair. i comb through with a small tooth comb to evenly distribute throughout. I also detangle in the shower w/ a wide tooth comb, so using a small tooth comb is not a problem. it the winter my end get a little more drier, so after this i add a little bit of shea butter to the ends.

i seal my ends as the last thing, i just put same oil in my palm, carefully rub my hands together and just go over my ends and bangs.
to refresh them i do the same thing, but more careful so that i dont cause more fizz, (which happeneds when i touch my hair, still trying to break that habit!)
jojoba shouldnt leave you with a greasy mess, cause its a light oil, thats y i use argan oil, thats light as well and absorbs quickly.
ive infused EVOO with fresh rosemary, i use that to scrunch in my hair, cause right now its really really dry, so ive been using the EVOO/rosemary to help with the moisture, i do this first then i put the argan over it.
hope that answers your questens

i looooovvveeeee OCM
I have been doing OCM for about 3 months now and my skin has never been in better shape. Except for the monthly 'flare up'. But there's not alot I can do about that! LOL. BC is out of the question because I have BP issues. So I just kinda endure it. I started out using a mix of CO/jojoba/grapeseed oil. Then I noticed some small red bumps (not acne) so someone suggested I try CO and EVOO and I'm loving it!
