Twisting technique that Jonathan Torch does?

Do any of you 3A types use the twisting technique that Jonathan Torch shows in his Frizzoff Curl Keeper video? Do you use Curl Keeper or something else?

Yes! I do it for about 8-10 curls on the top and front of my head. I don't have the time/patience for my whole head. It helps with frizz and curl definition for me, and it helps incorporate the fine baby hair around my hairline. I've used Curl Keeper and liked it a lot, and now I'm using KCCC and liking that as well.

This technique seems to be the same as doing finger coils IMO. My stylist uses this technique when she does my hair. I don't have the patience to do this myself as she puts a lot of these in my hair using Paul Mitchell Round Trip.

I can imagine KCCC coils turning out really nice.

I saw the video and tried it, but I just didn't have the knack.

Also, Curl Keeper did nothing and smelled gross, imo. Remember, though, I'm a 2 (and you thought you were one of us, once upon a time......ahem.)

I do it when I have time and am needing extra-special results.

It is kinda like finger twirling. It gives me great curls.

Same as Gretchen, I do it when I have time or want more special results. I love to use CJ Coffee Cocoa Curl Cream for great results.

I do a lazy version of it. Today I have CO and AVG on it and it's rocking!
I kind of combine the rake and shake with finger twirling.

I know (hee). I always want to be some other curl type - any other curl type! Total curl envy. And like so many other curlies - my curls are different sizes/shapes/types all over my head.

Curl Keeper did nothing for me either. Meanwhile (terrible confession coming) I got so frustrated having to wet my hair every day I have been rollersetting. That way I don't have to do anything else to my hair for 4 days in a row. I prefer the curly look but I'm too damn tired to get up and mess with it every a.m., it takes forever to dry and gets squashed if I wear a hat. In summer, when it dries quickly I'll go back to curls.
