Ouidad=thinning and itchy scalp? please help :(

Hi,

I joined the site because I am desperate! I had beautiful thick hair that was full and healthy. I started using the Ouidad products and I absolutely loved them but since week one I felt the itchiness in my scalp. I thought I would just stick to it since my curls had never looked so beautiful and defined. Now my hair has thinned out so much it makes me want to cry and my scalp still itches. I am not sure if I'm maybe allergic to the silicones in it or what the problems is but has anyone gone through this experience? or can anyone recommend another product that will have the same effects on the curls but not the itchiness and thinning?

I would greatly appreciate you help...

I only used a few of the Ouidad products because of the 'cones. Wasn't impressed with any of them. If they are causing those symptoms, you have to stop using them.

I have very allergic, sensitive skin and have had issues with many of the products that have reached popularity on nc.com (CK, Shea M li, anything Bioterra come to mind.) I never did narrow down what made my scalp burn (it starts out as an itch, but continued use can change that to a burn) My hair prefers the more natural products from the online, boutique lines.

It would be good to identify your hair properties. There's a thread on nc.com that will take you to Live Curly Live Free - Home If you want all the information about hair in one place, you should invest in the ebook available there.

Once you identify your properties, you can look for folks with hair like yours and see what they use (most have it in their signatures.) Lines that I would suggest are Curl Junkie, Spiral Solutions, Marie Dean, Donna Marie, Kozama, to name a few off the top of my head.

. Also wanted to add that even if you are not allergic cones can clog hair follicles just like they can clog pores. I used to shed so much before I tried CG. Also some more lines: jessicurl, curls, blended beauty, qhemet, shea moisture, darcy's botanicals, oyin, and myhoneychild. A lot of salon brands have me shedding like crazy too. I think its because many of them use milder surfacants but fail to stop using heavy silicones. Do one final sulfate rinse and try CG
