Deva Products

Hi curly gals,

I just got my first Deva Cut (yay!) and it went MUCH better than my first Ouidad cut (Boo.). I think my hair responded better to the dry cut than the wet, carve-and-slice technique.

So, a few question. How did you feel about the Deva products that were put in your hair? I LOVE the way they smelled, but they have made my hair feel fake. Does that make any sense? Has anyone else had that experience with the Deva styling products? Also, for all you 3c girls, do you prefer to use a diffuser to dry your hair or air dry your hair? Thanks for reading, and thinking about answering (or actually answering! ) these questions!!

I've never had my hair cut at a DevaSalon but I do use their products religiously. I use Deva Care No-Poo every 1-2 days. I find it moisturizes my hair just a bit more than Deva Curl No-Poo since I've colored it very close to a platinum blonde. I use Deva Care Low-Poo maybe once every two weeks. I used to love their One Conditioner (love the orange smell) but I find Elucence Moisture Balance Condish soften and hydrates a little bit better on my hair. As far as a styling product I have not used Deva Care/Curl ArcAngell yet.. Im a bit iffy since KCCC works so well.

Other than that I think their products are everything my hair wants. Its never feels hard, brittle, or dry. No poo leaves my hair feeling so nice and healthy.

I love DevaCare ArcAngel!!! I've used DevaCurl Angel and that works great, but ArcAngel just seems to work better and I get to use less. I put a tiny amount of KCKT in my soaking hair(about a penny size) then I rake in ArcAngel in sections like side, front, side(I don't section my hair I'm too lazy for that). The KCKT helps the gel glide through my hair and distribute it evenly. After its everywhere I scrunch upside down and use microfiber towel to scrunch water out until 80% dry then I diffuse upside down as much as possible with the time I have in the mornings and let the rest air dry. Normally I don't have to scrunch out the crunch but I do go back and use hair balm when it's completely dry(I only use it when it's humid out so I don't use that in the winter).
Love my auburn 3b/3c curls!! Favorite products are Treseme Naturals conditioner and DevaCare ArcAngel(<---miracle for definition!) I really just want to GROW MY HAIR OUT!! It's not really working...

As for drying, i used to diffuse, but now i only air dry. When i did diffuse i only dried it part of the way anyway so cometely air drying just makes more sense to me. Even in the winter time i dont like to put a blow dryer to my hair. I just let it air dry as much as possible in the house before i leave and try to walk quickly from my car to my indoor destination lol.

Ive never had a Ouidad cut but i dont think i would try it. The Deva method just makes so much sense to me i dont see a need to try something different. My trim was almost eight months ago and my hair is still pretty even and my ends have no splits so i wont be having my hair cut often anyway.
