Tried a new updo today!! 2 day old wash and go... I went from a high pony puff too this style. French twisted the back, with a side part, & let the front be a bit free. I put Eco styler gel on the edges and front to lay them down.

So, this is how I wear my new short hair. I cut off all my heat damaged hair. I didn't have a perm, but I didn't like the way the heat damaged made my curls look so sloppy and unraveling? If that makes sense.
I'm not really a "fro" person, it's just not my style, so I decided to pin 2 inch groups of hair down and let the curls lye flat against my head. It's pretty wash and go...just with lots of bobby pins . I think this is how I'll wear my hair until it grows long enough for me to pull back into a loose romantic curly pony/bundle.
I'm not sure if it's 3C, but this seems close enough. My curls are about pencil/pen size, depending on the curl.

Curls (online), My Honey Child, and Feels Like Silk. I also like the odd cheap silicone free conditioner for cowashing.

Your hair is so pretty and healthy looking to be bleached. Mine would look like straw!

Two quick & easy new protective up-do styles that I've been wearing!
First style is a side rolled/swooped bang with an over-hand braid with tucked end.
Second style is s pomp band with a French roll.
Here's a tutorial video on how I did both styles.

Thank u! I never ever, EVAH use heat, moisturize like someone is paying me to, and tie it up at night. I always have my color done professionally, and I use a trick my stylist told me. Treat your hair like it is on its last leg, so many of the products I used are for damaged hair, even though mine isn't. Hope this helps!

I recently took new cam pics of my hair today, and just realized that my hair totally changed from 3b to 3c in a year and 7 months! It surprises me because I thought that my curl pattern would get looser as it grew longer.

Did you do anything too different? Why do you think it happened? Your curls are stunning. I LOVE them!

Are you doing CG? I've found the longer I go with cg the tighter my curls have become. I started out with 3b with a little 3c and no 4a. Now after a year I am almost all 3c with a little 3b and a little 4a size curls. I also have straight and wavy areas that haven't tightened up. I'm pretty pleased with CG and how my hair looks overall.

Thanks!
Not that I know of was too different, although I may have finger formed some of the top layer curls in the 2010 picture, and when I do that my curls tend to get a bit bigger in diameter. Also I think I do less heat-manipulation now, I'm kind of lazy or don't have time so I usually air-dry now. I never really had a BC or obvious transition, I just let my last relaxer stretch for like two years while I straightened my hair all the time, and then I just stopped straightening and after a trim of relaxed ends, my hair looked like the first picture. Again, all in the name of laziness and low maintenance, lol.
That might be it! My hair before was drier and some of the ends were sun-bleached too. Now I'm not strictly CG, but probably more so than before. I try to use silicone/sulfate/paraben-free products, but I still use a sulfate shampoo or a DC with silicone every now and then, and currently I'm experimenting with the Mixed Chicks leave-in, although the ingredients don't impress me.
I sort of liked the look of my curls in the older picture, but I can't complain about the length and health of my hair now, so I'm happy
