I'm not 100% sure but I think my hair falls in the 3C category.
I use homemade shampoo, homemade conditioner, whipped Shea butter mask, fantasia IC leave in, a mix of essential oils for my ends and keracare seal and shine. I also apply castor oil with vitamin e once a week.

Wait. We said the same thing, lol.

The poster I replied to did say she was confused though, and her pics are definitely 3B.

Different eyes see different things... for example, Sedadica got conflicting "diagnoses" of her curl size in this very thread, so should she not post here because of other peoples' perceptions (be they accurate or not)? For Sedadica, I see a classic 3c. Same thing with Messy-Jessy.. I see 4a with a bit of 3c in front, so should she be kicked out of the pool for that?

Anyways, it's not really that serious.. ya'll carry on. See my sig.. curl size is not the end all be all.

Well ladies, I've been told endless times that my hair is 3C. And I do believe it. No matter what others say about our hair, what matters is how we feel with and about it. And I love mine. Took a long time for me to realise that I have a beautiful hair (for me at least) and I do not need to go to any hairdresser to pay lots of cash to curl it. This is what my parents gave me and I'll cherish it. This is what matters.

this is my hair on an uncommonly tamed day. i had to tie it back all day to get it to be this calm, and condition it while drenching wet. i kind of like it like that. but, normally, i have super frizzy hair that i like for the first 5 hours of the day, then it gets big and pouffy. can't seem to stop it from doing that. strange combination of rough super dry loose curls with high porosity and barb wire like thickness. C'est la vie.

Um, yeah I guess. But this is asking for pics of 3c hair...

Ain't no wonder we get all these 'what's my hair type' threads.

But seems like a lot of folks still need validation from others, and whether or not they are "3c" they can still post here. There's no need for curl segregation.

That's also why I posted about four different threads showing 3c hair pictures upthread.. they can take it or leave it.

The site is segregated by curl type. The curl mart can be segregated by curl type. Many people post their hair type in their sigs. Yes, people should post where they want generally (I mainly post in a sub-forum that's not my hair type) and I agree hair curl size doesn't really matter too much (it matters for styling, imo), but in a thread asking for 3Cs to post photos of their hair, it doesn't make sense for me for someone with 4-whatever hair to post.
It'd be like someone making a thread asking for people to post photos of their TWA and someone posting a photo of their BSL mini twists. Odd, to me.
Posts by the ambiguous or the unsure are different (like someone in my example posting a photo of a larger afro that most would consider too long to be called teeny-weeny, I wouldn't say anything to them), which is why I asked a question (note, I did not TELL nc-curly that she was a 4, nor did I TELL her she couldn't post here) to someone who I had seen around and about in the 4a forum.
Shocking as it may seem, I generally ask questions because I want to know the answer and I wondered if she had posted forgetting she was in the 3c forum (in which case I was going to laugh at her, the same way I have a giggle with other people who post in the wrong thread/forum) or if she thought she was 3c or in-between 3c and 4a or if she thought she was 4a, but likes this forum and wanted to post here. Heck, I thought I was confusing her for someone else who posts in the 4a forum, I just wanted to know.

Cool, yeah?

They're pretty clear to me. I guess I was giving folks' reading comprehension abilities too much credit.. but anyways, yep, it's cool.

I use Kinky-Curly Come Clean once a months, otherwise i use a conditioner from treseme naturals, lavera or garnier triple nutrition. Then i do also use giovanni direct leave-in, jojoba oil and bee mine daily moisturizing spritz.

I'll tell you how to do each one of them and then you have to see if it's good for you as it is for me.

Shampoo: one bar of castile soap, water and peppermint essential oil.
You have to completely grate the soap first. Heat 4 glasses of water (1 litre give or take) and when it's almost boiling add the grated soap and keep mixing till all the soap has melted. Pour it in a bottle (maybe a water one) let it cool and add 10 to 15 drops of peppermint oil. Put it in the fridge for a night and then take it in the morning, shake it and start using it.
You don't need to keep it in the fridge after that.

Conditioner:
1 can coconut milk
1 avocado
1 spoon honey
2 spoons AVJ
2 spoons castor oil
2 spoons glycerin
2 spoons argan oil
2 spoons olive oil
2 spoons coconut oil
100ml of any conditioner

Use a blender and keep it in the fridge when you are not using it. By the way, you can add your choice of EOs.

Hope it works for you.
Cheers

Here is my hair from the back, the top, bottom and then the top again... and then some products I usually use... My products aren't so "natural", I'm looking to add more natural shampoos & conditioners in the future, though... I also usually use: extra virgin olive oil and honey. *apologies for the "orangey" quality of some of the photos, they were taken at night.
