Default Trim your own hair

How To Trim Your Own Hair - YouTube

Hey ladies.. recently I trimmed my own hair and my method is pretty similar to Naptural85's method. The only difference is that I start with a center part and make vertical (downward from crown & center part) parts to cut the individual sections. Using this method I don't think I'll ever have to go to a stylist for a trim ever again. Since you're not cutting very much hair at a time you are less prone to making mistakes.

If you trim your own hair, share your tips here so others can learn or try them out.

My staples: Mane n Tail (cowash), Garnier Fructis Sleek n Shine (leave in condish), Grapeseed oil or shea butter (sealing), Organic Root Stimulator Elasticitea (leave-in condish & light hold)

I trimmed my hair a few months ago and it is so uneven i am actually a little scared to do it again, but I may try this. After you do your part down the middle do you compare one side to the other or do you just trim the same amount all around?

I definitely compare the left and right sides to make sure they're mostly even. I really never wear my hair straight, so if I fudge it up a bit the curls will hide my mistake. Curls are so forgiving.

I get my sis to trim my hair. I am not brave enough to trim mine. I would love to though.
