Default Curly Bangs?

Hey everyone,

Friday I'm going into a salon to have my hair dyed back to its natural color, and to possibly get a haircut. I don't want too much of my hair cut off, but it's probably a good idea for me to get a trim anyway. I've been considering getting curly bangs, and I've found some really cute examples online, but my curls are pretty tight and I'm afraid they aren't going to lay right, especially if they end up too short. I read on one website that people with tight curls shouldn't get bangs, but I wanted to get the NC community's opinion on this. I just want to start wearing my hair in a style other than having a headband holding it back or with the crown of my head really flat, so I thought having some bangs would bring versatility to my style. What do you think? Here's a picture of me and my current hair situation. (This picture shows me with more volume than I am normally able to achieve.)

Well, just give it a try. Don't go too short at first and of you like it than go shorter. The way I see it, it's just hair and it grows back. I just cut my waist length hair into a short bob with bangs because I thought it would be cut and now I don't like it. But at least I tried it and got it out of my system. My hair is already growing back ( thinking positive ) just give it a try

Thank you so much for answering. I'm just a little afraid the stylist is going to completely mess up my hair. There are no curly-hair specialists or ethnic hairstylists where I'm at, so I always end up taking a risk when I let someone do my hair. I think it'll be fine...I just want to try a new style and find something I like.

I cut my own bangs at first because I really wanted them. I looked at tons of pics online and found one I liked. I cut them a lil. Then I curled them to make them shorter before I cut them back even more. Sometimes you just know better than the stylist

I big chopped last August, and now the front of my hair is too short to be put into a ponytail. I've been leaving the front out with curly side bangs and a part in the middle . Everyone says it looks really cute, so I'd say go for it. The front of my hair stretches about down to my lower lip for cutting reference, and when it's curly is just above my brow.

Hope this Helps

Well, I'm going in to the salon tomorrow, and it looks like I'm not going to get too many more replies, so thank you Nikki and Coco for your help. We'll see how it goes.
