How much do you pay to get your hair did?
Just curious. My girlfriends and I were speaking about this and I was surprised at the range people were willing to shell out for a fresh do.
I pay $175 for a trim, deep treatment, highlights, and styling every 2-3 months.
I pay $50 for blowouts and deep treatment at the dominican salon every other month or so.

I do my hair myself 99% of the time. I only go to the salon once per year. When I do it's a special occasion and I tend to get the "works". The last time I went I got a wash, deep treatment, trim, and weave. It cost $300 + tip.

 Dang.
Well on the rare occasion when I do go to a salon for a trim it's about $50.. I leave with my hair wet and restyle it at home. Even that $50 is more than I want to pay but my stylist is really good with curls. Most of the time I do my own hair and trims.

Just the cost of products. When I was getting my hair done (6 YEARS ago!) I was paying maybe $30 for my friend's sister to braid it w/ weave. (Actually closer to 8 yrs ago.) Dang... I'm useless in this tread. LoL!

I used to spend $80 when I was relaxed (incl. Deep treatment, blow out & flat iron)
Now...after hearing complaints about my needing a relaxer...nada. I spend close to $300 a year on products, tools, etc.
I will get a ouidad cut in the spring and I believe it will cost $90 with a dt.

Dang, I wish I could trim and highlight my own hair, but I'm scared of what the end result would look like, lol.
If I just go in for a wash, trim, and styling it costs $55 + tip. Coloring is what usually gets me.

Hair cut = $60/6-8 weeks. Products = I refuse to think about it, or speak of it, lest it clears out my bank account.

I've been doing my own hair for a long time. Weaves, braids, brazilian keratin, flat iron, dye, highlights, trims, cuts, lol everything myself.
When I was 17-19 though I got a wash and flat iron and trim every week or 2 for $30-$40 bucks.

In the past I used to pay to get it straightened (about 20-30 dollars a pop for around shoulder length straightened hair). Now I don't let anyone touch my hair...I am my own hairdresser :3

last time i got a hair cut was a big chop with a deva stylist in may..8 months ago..cost $60 plus a big tip cuz i loved my hair. i'm trying to keep my hair super healthy and only trim it once a year..im really trying to grow it out.
about once every two months..i get my hair blow dryed at a dominican salon..its about $25.
my big expense now is hair products..and i go through conditioner like its water so i always go with drug store brands. I usually splurge on gels and styling products.

I haven't gotten my hair done at a salon since my BC and that cost me $45. That was a wash, set, deep condition and blow dry/flat iron.
However, since I have been putting off getting a trim, I'm trying to get one by next month with maybe a few highlights. I don't really want to spend more than $100 (not including tip) dollars. I was looking at the BeeHive Salon in Brooklyn since they typically charge 85 for a curly cut or something like that. I could go for that. Seems reasonable.

When I was getting my hair done regularly it was $40 for wash, blow dry, press/flatiron & curl
$5 more if I wanted a trim, or if I got tracks added they were $5 each, every time.
Now I just go to get haircuts and she charges me $20.. & her tip is a frappucino LOL I love her..
shes a rarity though, she does hair because she loves it.. & shes not a hater & she actually knows how to care for hair!
I hate those hairdressers who change up their price depending on how they feel about you at the time, "Oh you havent been in a month? $60!" or those who "trim" off three inches cause "you havent been in so long & your ends are damaged" umm I dont have time for that.

I stopped going after my bc. Before that I only went for retouches. That was $50 to $70 depending on where I went. Prices are cheaper where my family lives. But comparing spending that every 6 to 8 weeks to what I spend in products is a whole lot of savings. I trim my own hair since I never straigthen it.

I spend $0. I trim my own hair and style it. On the rare occasion I get it done professionally, I do a quick blow out and then straighten for like $45... usually once a year, haha.

Im going to echo BekkaPoo and NaturalRemedy. I'm my own hair dresser. I don't trust anyone in my hair since going natural. I've heard too many hair dresser horror stories and mishaps to put my beautiful locks into someone else's hands without feeling VERY comfortable.
I've been to a professional hair salon exactly one time since my BC. It was Fiddleheads deakin in DC and that was only for a trim to even my curls out. (i did my big chop myself and it was really uneven.) I liked my hair cut but I wasn't a fan of the styling at all. The total came to something like $65, which I wasn't too mad at because all the Fiddleheads stylists are Deva certified. But since then I've cared for my hair all by myself and will continue to do so. I don't have any damage or breakage issues so spending money to have my hair done on a regular basis seems foolish to me.

I do never go to a hairsalon to get my hair done. But once in while, not very often i go to try something new. Like braids or cornrows. It's been a while since the last time i got it, but i hope to get it again soon.
