Post Can I get my hair to dry DOWN instead of OUT?

my hair is shoulder lengh straight & mid-neck when wet & chin lenth when dry

when my hair is wet, its curly, but donward (how i like it)

when it dries, it tends to go outward (like a clown)

do i need something that weighs it down?? any products to recommend???

thanks!

I let my hair dry and shrink up...then for bed, I band it in a low ponytail like this

I used bobby pins to pin my hair up around the perimeter of my head since they are finer or looser and will straighten if pulled taut

Thats interesting NIke never saw that before.

OP, you could also try weighing it down with lots of conditioner and gel or whatever heavy products your hair likes. I don't like weighing my hair down so I don't have any product rec's sawee

I used Kinky Curly Curling Custard to get my hair to lie down flat when it was longer. It was the difference between curls that hung at my shoulders, and curls that went further down my back.

Ingredients: botanical infusion of water, horsetail, chamomile, nettle and marshmallow, organic aloe vera juice, agave nectar extract, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin e), pectic, citric acid, potassium sorbate and natural fragrance

i agree with TriMixDiva. weighing down your hair will help if grow downward cause when you hair is shorter it usually tends to grow out instead of down.. the tightly curly method is a way you can use alot of conditioner that will weigh your hair down you should try it ^.^

You could wet your hair, apply your products, and then air/bonnet dry your hair in a low pony tail or bun to get it to hang more.

Do you let it completely air dry in the low pony or only about halfway?

The only way I could ever get mine to dry down and not out was getting layers

You would have to get someone who knows how to cut curly hair in order for your hair to lay right. I use to have "helmet head " or like arnold from the cartoon hey arnold

Either way.. If I let it dry all the way it takes longer but has more stretch. If I dry it halfway in the pony it will be curlier.

Thanks for the info and my apologies about the double post. If I knew how to delete the second one, I would.
