Do people use it more as a leave-in or styler?

I use it as a leave in. I'm not sure what a styler is.

I'be tried it both ways. I find it much too heavy for me as a leave in. I mainly use it on my kids & husband as a moisturizer or styler. It great for twist outs & braid our on my hair!
It is true that a little goes a long way!

I've never used it as a styler, only as a leave-in... But I could see it working either way! The stuff works great.

I tried it yesterday as a leave-in. It worked pretty well I guess. Everybody says a little bit goes a long way but I had to use a good amount to get the style I wanted. My product may be a little different though because I have the Shea Moisture shampoo and curl enhancing cream box set not just the tub.

Its funny, I love the smoothie but the milk made my hair stringy. Wonder why?

So I think I found my perfect wash n go routine
It has taken me months, money, and many products but I think I have found the perfect wash n go routine for my hair! I wasnt a fan of cowashing in the beginning but now my hair is starting to like it.
My routine
Cowash (almost everyday)- suave naturals aloe and waterlily...OMG this stuff smells amazing lol
LI- Shea Moisture coconut and hibiscus curl enhancing smoothie (I find that it works best if I apply the LI while Im still in the shower and my hair is soaking wet)
Styler- Pantene medium-thick mousse. This mousse is very light and airy and provides just the right amount of hold and curl definition when used with the above products. I definitely need to finger curl around the crown of my head because for some reason that area is a completely different texture.
Thats it!

Its too heavy for my hair
I find the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie to be too heavy for my wash and go hair...I love it when combined with Shea butter before blow drying...I was thinking of trying the Curl and Style Conditioning Milk is that one good?

@yetrapp
Your hair is so very pretty!
I think I will try it again as a leave in. It just seemed so heavy last time. But as they say you should try products a few times before passing a judgement.

I cannot use Shea Moisture as a styler.. it has NO hold for me. Lol. At least not down here. Maybe if I was still living @ home where humidity doesn't play as big of a factor (moved from WA to Louisiana). I use SM Mist, then layer a small amount of Shea Moisture over it.. so I guess that's using it as a leave-in/moisturizer. Then I layer my gel over it.

I have both. IMO they do very similar things, but the milk is way lighter/doesn't deliver nearly as much moisture. I like it from time to time.

The smoothie was too heavy for me as a leave in but it is amazing as a styler. That's just my personal opinion though :-)

I use this as a styler. I actually mix the milk and smoothie in about half and half ratio in my hands and smooth through my sections for soft, defined corkscrews. It took me a few tries to get this down, though. Play around with combos... Alone the smoothie makes my hair sticky, and the alone the milk is not enough to define my curls, but the combo is perfect: hydration, definition, and hold!

I use it as a leave-in. I don't really use stylers anyway. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to keep buying the smoothie or just stick with the milk though because there's no point in me getting both since the ingredients are virtually the same. It IS heavy, but if you have extremely porous hair it sucks it up anyway so it's not an issue.
