The typing system is confusing for me too and I'll bet for many curies. I think it's because all our hair patterns are so different.
I think your hair looks like a mixture of 3b & 3c. If it is very healthy, it might curl more and be more like 3c.
Just the other day someone told me I had a very tight curl pattern and I began to think I'm not 3a but very much like you - in between 3b and 3c. Not sure! In the back my hair looks a lot like yours. In the front my hair defies description (sorry - I'm going off the track here).
Anyway, I hope you post more and let us know what products and techniques work well for you. I learn something new practically every day on this board.
2/c and some 3A. Modified CG.
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Experimenting with cones & sulfates while the dews are high. Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.
Every day is a gift
