What are your favorite/recommendations?
So I have been doing CG for about 10 weeks. I started out with the Deva products which I like for the most part. Although I go through the conditioner so fast I am ready to explore other products.
So what are your favorite conditioners and gels? I have tried a couple of gels but I think the tressemme conditioner I have been using is messing with the gels because I cannot get any repeat results. Also I live in Houston....lots of humidity. What kind of frizz taming products work on your 3a/3b hair???
Thank you in advance!

Hair properties are more important for choosing products/ingredients, then hair type. Here's a link to help you Live Curly Live Free - Home Once you determine your hair properties, you can look for folks with hair like yours and see what they use (in signatures.) It's the best place to start.

I can't help with frizz-taming products as frizz still conquers my hair on humid days (well, it looks frizzy to me, though someone asked me on the last rainy day here how I kept my hair so curly and not frizzy, to my amazement). But in place of One Condition, I've been using Aubrey Organics White Camellia conditioner. The ingredients are not identical, but there is some overlap. It is even richer and I usually only need one palmful for my long, dense hair, rather than the 3 palmfuls I used of One C. But I agree with Kathymac and Gretchen that figuring out your hair properties so you know better what your hair "needs" and reading the reviews are good ideas.

I've been using the same products for 7 years. I experiment with new things just for fun but always go back to the same things.
Conditioner - Suave Coconut, Suave Everlasting Sunshine, VO5 Kiwi Lime, VO5 Moisture Milks.
Gel - LA Looks Sport Gel
I also do a deep treatment and a vinegar rinse once a month or so.

Just watch Suave Humectant if you're CG. It was my HG for many years before I was a label-reader. I would use it as my LI and didn't even need a styler that ish is so good, but I didn't realize it had a cone in it (dimethicone I think) until I suggested it to someone on this site years ago. I kept wondering why all of a sudden it would just stop working (I wasn't even using a low-poo then). Cone build-up.

My go to frizz killers are an ice cold rinse after conditioning, a few drops of honey mixed with my leave in and Herbal Essences Set Me Up Gel.

What works the best for my hair is a curl cream that I made by mixing softened Shea Butter with gel and a few drops of olive oil. It was easy to make and works great because it doesn't weigh down my hair, is moisturizing, and has a great hold!

That sounds great! Does it need to be refrigerated? What kind of gel did you use and how much, like half shea butter, half gel?

No, I don't refrigerate it and I used the Eco Styler Moroccan Argan Oil Gel. You can also use aloe vera gel but I haven't tried that yet. I think I did half of the shea butter and half of the gel.

Hey!
I have 3b curls.
I use to use Garniar Fructis Curl Gel which I thought worked really well. I stopped using it because it made my curls 'crunchy', and it was causing my hair to break off.
For the past year I've only used conditioners in my hair for styling products. I stopped buying Leave In Conditioners because the bottles were too small and have been using regular conditioner (the wash out kind) instead. I really LOVE L'Oreal Eversleek conditioner. I put a generous amount in my damp hair everyday and work it through with my fingers. It leaves my hair soft (no crunch!), shiny and no frizz (which is always a battle since I live in GA). So, obviously, i would recomend that (or something with similar ingredients) I like that it has all natural oils in it (silicone free) but doesn't weigh my hair down (i use to avoid conditioners with oils cause it made my hair super heavy).
Happy Hunting!
