Product recommendation?

After 5 years of straightening my curly hair I am now trying to find the perfect products to go natural. My problem is that there are soo many products and I don't have enough money to try them all! For the past few months I've been using the deva no poo, one condition, and angel, and although it is a significant improvement from any of the non-curly specific products I've used, it leaves my hair feeling coated and unevenly curly if I use too much and frizzy if I use too little. So what have you guys used and loved? My hair is thick and I have shortish bangs that frizz and go crazy. If anyone watches Seinfeld my goal is to have hair like Elaine...haha except my hair is red thanks for any advice!
The best way to choose product/ingredients is hair properties, rather then hair type. Here's a link to help you with yours Live Curly Live Free - Home Once you determine your properties, you can look for folks with hair like yours and see what they use (in signature.) It's the best place to start.

Many of us start with Deva, think we like it and then move on to other things. Especially since the ingredients changed a few years ago. My hair likes the more natural products from the online, boutique type companies. Don't care for that producty feel.

HGs: Anything Sevi; Curly Kinks Satin Roots, Curlycue ReNew and Coil Jam; homemade FSG and okra gel; soap bars; UFD Curly Magic (now Hello Curly Curl Stimulater); Botanical Spirits Jellies, CJ Repair Me, Marie Dean Leave Ins and Curl Creams
Another thing to keep in mind once you determine your hair properties is that Kathymack sells samples! The link to her fotki is in her signature, but just in case: Public Home | Kathymack | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy. (and you can always google "Kathymack samples" if you forget the link!)

I have been able to experiment with lots of different products this way without spending oodles of money. And I love that nothing I bought from her was really chemical-y smelling (I hate when my curly hair smells like it used to when I would straighten it )! Good luck!
