Default Awkward lengths?

What was the hardest length to grow out?
Or what was that most awkward length you ever had??

For me it was growing out from chin to shoulder

Getting past BSL (curly). Never been done, but I'm here now, recently had a trim and am not planning anymore for a while I'm taking biotin and folic acid and have been for months, so I have faith that if it can it will!!!

Sent from my DROID X2 using CurlTalk App with accidental obvious autocorrect errors throughout.

lol Right now is my awkward length stage. I'm not sure if y'all can see from my sigpic, but I have crazy unevenness throughout my hair - short on top, and longer underneath. I wouldn't be so mad if my hair was longer overall, but the longest hairs are about shoulder length

and you know what it's been like that FOREVER, I can't wait for my hair to start growing.

The stage I am at now. My hair is ear/chin curly, shoulder length stretched. I want to be shoulder length curly so bad. However, since I'm growing out hair dye and only have 3" of virgin hair, it's gonna be a while

kiaraa: my hair looked JUST like yours when i was at chin length. i had cut it myself (bad idea) and it was extremely uneven, i HATED IT. but now actually that its growing out it all looks the same length.. its still alittle uneven but its not as noticable as before
i think to get it pass shoulder ill have to try doing those protective styles and see if i can get more length retention

africana:i was like you too.. i felt like it was taking so long to grow but i just recently looked at my hair and finally realized it was to my shoulders so dont even worry your hair will grow faster if youre not obssessing over it, you know?

elenaa: yes, I made the mistake of cutting off my damaged ends by myself. BAD mistake lol It's been years since that cut, but my hair has hardly grown to cover up the unevenness. I hate how slow curly hair shows growth. :P

My hair is layered and the longest part is down my back about 2 inches. Another part is just a bit below my shoulder, and the shortest in like the middle of my head ): people find it fun to make fun of that awkward long part, because it is like one little section. When my hair is straightened, it is pretty long down my back (: my hair is so oddly layered 😔😔😔

Yes, between chin and shoulder. Mine is not there, yet, but will be soon. My biggest problem is that my nape hair (around 3B) is not as curly as the rest of my hair (mostly 3C, with some 4A at the front). So as it grows out, I get that "curly mullet" look. I have to keep asking my hair lady to cut a little more in the back.

But then again... I could just brush it out all frizzy for that Rock of Ages / 80s hair band look!

i agree from any shorter length to shoulder length is a bit of a wait. my hair finally hangs over my shoulders curly, my man commented on it yesterday. was a really good feeling.

I think I'm going through that awkward stage now, I've always had long hair (straight waist length) but ever since becoming natural & seeing my curls its like on top of my shoulders its not long and its not short is really weird being in this in between stage so all I do is rock buns and curly puffs
