Conditioner problems?

Okay, so I used to use the Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition and Sleek & Shine conditioners, before they were reformulated. I recently quit using them, and decided to try the GVP Conditioning Balm. I don't think it was creamy enough for my hair, if you know what I mean? I didn't spread well on my hair, even when my hair was soaking wet. And for those of you who have read Lorraine Massey's "Curly Girl" second edition book, my hair didn't feel like wet seaweed or silk once I applied the conditioner, as she describes it. I could not even run my fingers through my hair! I don't know what the problem is. Has anyone else had this experience with the GVPCB? Or does anyone have any other conditioner recommendations?
Curly and PROUD!!!

My hair has a mix of low/med/high porosity, and it's medium textured (some are still fine, though!)

I also don't find GVP CB to have a lot of slip. There don't seem to be a lot of us. I've been experimenting with the new Renpure conditioners as my GFTN replacement. The Argan Oil formula is protein-free if that's a concern.

I found that to be the case as well. I just put a little light oil in it when I used it. I found safflower seed oil was really light and didn't weigh my hair down like evoo which made my scalp ichy.

Corrina777 - I've been wanting to try the Renpure conditioners as well, but there aren't any stores around here that carry it. I guess I'll just have to buy it online somewhere. Where do you get yours from?

Lexcoupe - That is a good idea. Hmm...safflower oil? This is new to me. Do they sell it in stores? What are some other lighter oils that you know of? Olive oil would weigh my hair down, too.

I get mine from Harmon's Discount store (I noticed they also have Harmon's inside of Christmas Tree Shoppe stores). I had to do a bit of hunting around to find it on the ground.
