Anyone happy with their hairstyle for work?
I still find myself in the same position of dissatisfaction with my hair still due to the same reason. I have wet hair for work all day and it's embarrassing. I've tried everything, satin pillowcases, satin caps, overnight scrunchy, diffusing, heated cap. Day 2 hair is awful on me. Diffusing takes forever and shrinks and frizzes my hair even with leave in conditioner and gel. Choosing to be productless leaves my hair a dry thirsty frizzy mess. Wrapping my hair in a t-shirt while I get ready still leaves my hair sopping wet for the day. Heated caps only get e top of my head and not my long hair and it's impractical to do every morning. I do have to o it every morning bc day 2 hair doesn't work for me. Overnight scrunchy and when I wake up my hair is still sopping wet for the day. Washing the night before and leaving loose instead of a scrunchy and my hair is an uneven frizzy shrunken mess. When I first started cg I was excited bc I thought I could find happiness with my hair but I feel a continous frustration being among professional women feeling embarrassed having sopping wet hair everyday. I feel very unattractive and unprofessional everyday because of it. And I haven't found anything I can do to fix this ongoing issue, which makes me even more frustrated.

i know this might sound a little out there, but have you considered cutting your hair? i used to have a similar problem when mine was mid-back length, but now it's a bob (to the collar bone) and it's a breeze. i even get 2nd day hair.
the only other suggestion i have is scrunching with a t-shirt, that usually soaks up most of the water for me. and blow drying just the roots helps too, the ends dry quicker and aren't frizzy.
sorry, hope that helps.

I started scrunching out a lot of the water in my hair with a t-shirt. Then I would put my gel in and diffuse a little. My hair dries much quicker this way. Before I was putting my gel in soaking wet hair and it took forever to dry.

Do u live in an area that is very humid. I live in Philly and until I started to use anti-humetant products, my hair took a long time to dry too.
Instead of a t shirt, have u tried a microfiber towel.

I have very long 3b hair and I also struggle with this. Here are a couple of suggestions:
•Try different products. Gels take the longest to dry for me, mousses the shortest and creams are in between. You might consider experimenting with other things... I find the difference can be several hours.
•Shower earlier. I get home from work at about 5, and on a hair washing day I go work out immediately. As soon as I get done I jump in the shower. Then I go about my evening with my hair down letting it air dry. By the time I am ready for bed it it still damp, but definitely not dripping. You may not be able to do this, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
•Dry your hair more before putting in products. My hair does not like to take products when it is soaking wet... The products just drip right out. I try to dry my hair until it is just between wet and damp, and then turn on the faucet and rake in water as needed when I style it.
Hope those suggestions help!

Have you found a solution to your professional look problem? I feel for you. It can be so frustrating (not to mention expensive) to try and find the right regimen. I'll tell you what I do for my mid back length hair. I co wash with suave naturals, I then wrap my hair in a t shirt. I apply my leave in and detangle by raking it through. Next I apply my gel and leave it alone. I air dry so, I have to wash on a day that I'm not working. Once it's dry, I bend over and scrunch until its soft. No wet look for me. At night I put it in a high ponytail. The next day it's presentable for work. I usually don't have frizz. If I do I just use a little water to smooth down the frizz. I may use bobby pins on days 3 & 4 to keep it under control. Tuck the pins in and they won't be seen. I hope you're getting a handle on it.

If my hair is getting unruly, I braid it. French braids with the end tucked in, or dutch braids around the side of my head and tucked... Otherwise, I pin one or two sections up just to "dress it up" a bit.

Risos, I have the same problem. From these posts, I'm going to try putting in product after I scrunch out some water. I've been putting product in dripping wet hair.
Please post back and tell us how it is going. Hopefully, these suggestions will help both of us.

Still sporting the wet look and not because I like it. I still use the t shirt method bc pineapple ing and diffusing shrink my hair from mid back length to shoulder length. Both also make my hair really big and frizzy. I tried scrunching out water before product but it makes my hair pouffier and frizzier. I also dd the hair analysis to see if product choice would affect my hair's air drying time. My hair still takes forever to dry. Everyday I wear a wet top to work because of my hair. I have been unable to solve this issue. It's either short puffy frizzy big dry hair or long wet dripping hair. Neither look good but I go with the wet look bc the dry hair makes my head and face itch. It feels like wool when it's dry.

I hate leaving the house with wet hair too especially in the winter. Usually I style the night before, as soon as I'm finished work and after I get home from the gym, that way I have plenty of time for my hair to dry. I also use a microfiber towel which helps cut back on the drying time. It may take the entire night but I pineapple before bed and just fluff my hair out in the morning. I usually try to wear my hair half up and half down, high bun or ponytail for work because I find it more professional looking on me and I want to be taken seriously in my field because I'm the youngest one practicing at our facility.

My suggestion is to use a household fan to dry your hair. It's pretty much my holy grail. LOL
What I normally do is wash/style my hair, and then sit in front of a fan (with my back turned to it so my back hair will dry first, then I flip over if my front if it's still wet.). I also have a ceiling fan that I turn on, but it's not always needed. I'll usually do my make-up or eat breakfast during this time.
My own hair will take over 7 hours to air dry. But it dries completely in about 1hr - 2hrs using my fan. No extra frizz or anything, I use the low setting, I don't what to blast my curls apart. LOL
I find that I actually have less frizz when I use a fan, because I think my gel dries faster locking the curl into place. If they are too hard, I just scrunch them out. Sometimes I will do this the night before if I need to save time in the morning.

If you drive to work the solution is your heater. Aim the vents right at your hair on either side and put it on hot and high. It'll dry in half an hour.
Don't go in with a wet head. Rather dry it and put it up or half up or back than have dripping hair.

I was going to say this too. Ever since I saw it mentioned on another topic I've been doing this and scrunching it once I get to work as it has dried during my 20min commute.
I scrunch water out, add leave in, scrunch again, add gel, towel scrunch then go and crank up the heat in the car (don't blow it to your face).
