Default In need of help with damaged hair :(

Im 18 years old, half pakistani and half black. My mother is the pakistani one, but my hair is almost the complete opposit of hers. Neither one of us have ever really known how to take care of it. As a result, I got relaxers for many years. I've been free of them for two years now, my hair is not as long as it used to be though. It is passed my shoulder. It is dry looking, and feeling. My curls dont even look the same after they dry. I need to really define them somehow, make them want to clump together. I need to make my hair healthier, stronger, and definitely softer. Any tips? advice? PRODUCTS/REMEDIES?? Im in need. Thanks(:

This is a difficult question to address because we all have different hair so different products are going to work for us. You say your hair is really dry so I am assuming you use shampoo. Check out the CG (Curly Girl) method, which is basically cleansing your hair with conditioner. If you still need to use shampoo cut it down to once every couple of weeks to once a month.

Also, it would be useful to have pictures of your hair or for you to tell us what you do to your hair. Right now I can only advise you based on what I assume you do to your hair. For example...Do you straighten it? Do you use heat of any sort? How do you take care of your hair at night? Do you shampoo it on a daily basis...etc.

Also, go check out the Moisturizing Conditioners sticky for suggestions on conditioners. Unfortunately, if your hair is damaged from heat there is little you can do to repair the very permanent damage that heat causes other than trimming off the damaged ends.
