Blue Eco - 5 out of 10 hold?
Hi
I recently ordered the clear Eco which I normally use & received the blue Eco instead by mistake.
The bottle of blu says the hold is 5 out of 10. But when I checked on the Facebook site - it said the hold was 10 out of 10.
Does anyone know if there are 2 types of blue Eco or was it just a typo on the packaging?
Cheers

My blue eco says 5 out of 10. It's my favorite eco gel though. I love that stuff.

Thanks for clearing thaT up everyone.
I wonder how it was sent to me mistakenly if it's been discontinued. Maybe excess stock - trying to get rid of it.
So now that I have been mistakenly sent (with no chance of a refund) 2 x 5lb tubs of Blue Eco 5 out of 10 -
I'm gonna have to like regardless it should take me a good couple of months to get thru that amount.

On facebook they said that the newer 10 hold version is still like the one with 5 hold, but they "tweaked" it a bit to give better results--I think a little more hold and some sunscreen. Maybe if they made it 8 instead of 10 I wouldn't be so skeptical. I find it quite annoying when a company decides to reformulate a cult favorite. Sigh.

According to the company, it's been discontinued for like 3 yrs, there's just been a lot of stock out there in the world...so they've been slowing phasing the new reformulated version in...

I was wondering about this because I recently bought some blue eco and it had a hold of 10 not 5.

Have you used it yet? Noticed any differences in performance compared to the 5 hold?

I did see on fb - an explanation of the differences...
Just the obvious - no. 10 has stronger hold + UV protection.
It's the sports gel - didn't realise that

Mmmm, I tried Blu Eco 5/10 hold today & am impressed so far.
Getting 2 x 5lb tubs might have bn a blessing in disguise... for now. But I don't want to become addicted to a HG now that has been discontinued.
The tubs are way too big tho. So I ended up puttin some into a smaller pump jar - very messy. I think I must've wasted a lot of the Blu gunk which is fine cuz I have loads.

So thats what the issue was.
I just bought some and its a 5/10 , I saw someone post the sports blue had a 10/10 and I said that has to be wrong.

I actually just got a 5lb tub of the 5 hold myself...
Now that I realized that I actually need much less gel to get the results I like, I:
1) won't need to go looking for anymore gel for a while, lol and
2) might try the 10 sport formula whenever I finish to compare what the actual hold is like.
I know for many of us who have tried all the different Ecos, just because it says 10 doesn't mean it "feels" like 10, if that makes sense...Besides, the hold can be somewhat controlled by what leave-in is used underneath and how much gel is actually applied...

I don't use leave-ins as I always get white streaks when I use with any Eco gel. But I haven't tried a leave in with the Blu so gonna try that & see how that goes.

I've bn trying a leave SMCEH in with blue Eco and my hair absolutely loves it. When I dry my hair totally at home my curls are much more defined because the elements aren't messing with it. So on weekdays it's impossible for me to spend that amount of time drying my hair before I'm out the door. But even tho curls aren't as defined, blue Eco works well. No crunchiness either ps I don't get 3rd or 4th day usually. I haven't tried it often enough to see if it dries out my hair any more than the clear.

After using blue Eco after 2.5months - here's what I've found:
- when I use it on its own dries out my hair severely
- I've tried using it with a couple of leave ins but it leaves a white residue on my hair which disappears when dry. But my hair takes a very long time to dry
- using it on its own my hair is very tangled the next day & hard to detangle than when using other Eco gels
- on it's own hold is not crunchy at all
- don't even notice any smell
- using SMCES on my ends, then clear eco gel 1st on very wet hair & then touching up it up with blue when my hair is damp seems to work best for me
- great for 2nd/3rd and sometimes even 4th day hair to take the frizz out of my edges works a treat. I usually put my hair in a bun the night before, damp my edges & use the blue over them
- I've only gotten thru half of the big bucket in 2.5months. Aggggh!
