Irritated with hair!!

Hey guys so no matter how much gel I put on my hair my hair always stand up instead of laying down. Do you guys have any ways to get it to lay down. My hair is not very long but it is past my shoulders when straight.
Try using heavier products on damp hair with a technique similar to shingling.

You may want to wait for it to grow out...it might just looking a mess if you layer it with too much product/gel, but I guess you can give that a shot.
Mostly 3c and lovin' my curls

This is not a fashion trend, it's not a statement, it's pride for who we are and what we look like. And that is where our true beauty shines.

Is it long enough to tie up? Maybe try tying it up at night and stretch it a lil bit.
You can use those metal clips that are usually used for roller sets on the ends while it's wet then take them off and fluff when dry.
3b/c with some 4a in the middle of crown and back, medium to high porosity, frizzy, thirsty hair!

Stuff that used to work to define them do not seem to work now. My hair really loves protein but I can't find items that have enough protein to keep my curls defined. If I do get any curl definition it is gone by the end of the day -sigh-
