What's my hair type? Curls going aways as growing??! HELP

I have a picture of myself (profile picture). Basically when I have short layers and/or scrunch my hair I look like I have 3a hair, but now I have been trying to grow my hai out and its getting wavier as it grows. I don't use as many products in my hair (mousses, gels etc.), but I do hot oil treatments- maybe that's why it looks more weighed down than it used to be? It almost looks wavy now. Should I get my layers shorter again to make my hair look like it used to in the picture, or should I keep growing it?

2c-3a becomes more wavy as it grows. This is typical. Growing it out or not, is your preference on how curly you want your hair. I myself have 2c-3a hair and have been growing it out past BSL, and I finger twirl for curl definition on long hair. Otherwise mine would stay wavy. So its your preference. Hope that helps

BTW your curls looks so defined in your profile pic
3a with some 2a-2c, Medium/Low Porosity

Thanks for answering!! My hair has pretty short layers as it is growing out, and as it grows more and more it seems to be a lot thinner than it once was. I think I will continue growing it out and see what happens, besides I can always cut it. What do you think?

Sorry, I dint see your reply, Yea sure you can grow it out. You can also try a u-shaped cut on the back rather than a v-Shaped cut. That should help. I always cut my out hair in a ponytail on the top of the head.Like in this video.
