Would you call this 3a?

I'm conflicted, and can't quite tell. Here it is with a recent cut:



And here with length. A bit older, but pretty much what it looked like before the chop anyway:

I would say your a 2c, and 3a. When you scrunch your hair you probably look more curly and less wavy. Your hair is really pretty!!!
Sometimes I get carried away and manipulate him too much. He tells me he's fine on his own but I never listen. I wash him less now and all in all we're happy.

I agree! Your hair looks like it's 2c/3a. But more important than curl type are your hair's properties (density, porosity, texture). Knowing these three things will greatly help you in achieving healthy, moisturized curls! But all in all, gorgeous hair!
