My hair hates oil!!?
 

I've tried olive and argan oil and my hair hates it! Does this mean its porous? Any suggestions? My hair is long and thick but the curls are thinner and not as curly at ends (even after a cut).
I normally use ouidad products and love the tres effects gel. I use tresemme naturals for leave in. Any time I try to use an actual leave in confit makes my hair frizzy.

- do you seal in moisture ? and what exactly do you mean by "hates it" ?

Ditto. How does it make your hair feel? Maybe it's just the type of oil.. I heard oil has different properties and what works for some may not work for others...

It makes my hair feel like straw. Not soft. How do you seal it in?

- first wet your hair, then apply a leave -in if you desire, or just put put oil over it .

Try aloe Vera juice
The ph is 4.5 which is great for hair

My hair doesn't care for straight oil/butter, but likes them mixed into products. I suspect it's because it's low porosity and takes forever to absorb. The best way to choose ingredients/products is by hair properties. My hair isn't too crazy about oil either...EXCEPT for jojoba. Favorite!

My hair seems to have issues with oil as well. It doesn't matter if I put it in straight or mixed with other ingredients, my hair feels dry, like straw, and tangles terribly. It's like it sucks the moisture right out of my curls and takes ages to make my locks happy again.

For me this happens with EVOO, coconut oil, and mayo. I'm scared to try other oils

I've been using a "dry oil" from The Body Shop. It doesn't moisturize my hair, but leaves it satin-smooth, detangled, and shiny. Give the oil about two minutes to be absorbed by your hair. Most oils (except tamanu and Shima oil) also leave my hair as they do yours, but I'm really impressed with the so called "dry oils".

Coconut oil will leave hair feeling soft, but my favorite is jojoba oil.

I don't really like oil but I notice Phytospecifics revitalizing oil treatment is pretty nice.
