If you have short 3a hair, can you get 2nd day hair?
Those of you with 3a or maybe a mix of 3a and 3b who have short hair, have you found any successful ways to get 2nd day hair? My hair is too short to pineapple, and I do use a satin pillowcase but I have to rewet every day which is a real time waster for me.
I've been thinking of ordering Botticelli Babe's FSG since I have read some good reviews that say they get 2nd day hair with this. If you've been successful getting 2nd day hair, what do you use and are there any tips you could offer?
I find it easier to get second day hair with shorter hair -- mine is maybe an inch or two past my jaw. I use a satin sleep cap as my second day hair "tool" and it is easier to use when I have less hair. :D
Lately I've been having great luck using Spiral Solutions CEJ with Biotera Glaze on top (this is the consistency of Curl Keeper -- it's near the Biotera Gel in Sally's). Then I wrap my hair in a flour sack towel for about 10-15 min while I towel off, etc. To finish, I use LA Looks Sport Gel and clip by my part (to get volume). I let my hair air dry for about an hour, then finish with a diffuser.
With this combo, and sleeping in the sleep cap at night, I always get good second day hair. I just take it out of the cap, gasp at how crazy it looks ;) and then move my hair into place, fluff it where necessary, maybe smooth down an errant curl with my hand -- I don't use any stylers on the second day.
Good luck!! I just know you'll hit on the magic combination for your second day hair too! :-)
I've never gotten 2nd day hair ever, with any product. I've been using Botticelli Babe's FSG for about a year now. I was hoping to get 2nd day hair with it when I started, but that was a pretty big dream--I just don't think it's possible with my hair.
