Attack of the FRIZZ...please help!
Lately I've noticed that my hair has been pretty frizzy. I used to be able to wear my wash and go for 4-5 days, but now it seems that it is frizzy the next day or two. Anyone know of any ways to elimate frizz? Would a protein treatment fix this? I haven't done one in so long! And if I do need a protein treatment, anyone know of any good kinds, store bought or home remedy? Also, please let me know if there are ways other than protein treatments. HELP!

Not sure if your hair is in need of protein but i really liked the way Ion Repair Solutions Reconstructor works. Another good protein treatment is Nexxus emergencee. Ion is much more affordable and you can get it at Sally's.

Hmm, thanks, I might have to try one of them.

when ever i get a bad lot of fizz attacks, i do a nice ACV herbal rinse. i just add all my herbs as if im making tea and let it sit till its cold, then add a splash of ACV. i use this as a final rinse after i do a DC. that seems to settle my hair nicely

I'm a little new to this, lol, but what is ACV?

ooh and vinegar also helps with the PH of your hair. it balances and closes the hair, thats y it makes you more shinny. |
Wow that sounds like something I new because my hair has been so dull and dry lately. How often do you do this?

I've never had 2nd day hair, but I do notice my hair is gets very frizzy after a few days if i dont shampoo.. build up can make your hair very frizzy and co-washing wont help, you actually need to shampoo it..
|
i try to do it once a week. but weather i get around to it or not is another matter. but yea, generally once a week. but you have to find that out yourself how often you can do it.

So I tried a home made protein treatment, and it worked! I used eggs, mayo, honey and olive oil. I put a shower cap on and let it sit for about an hour. This is the third day and I am still able to wear my hair down and not have to put it in a pony tail. So happy!!

I just realized that I think I know the source of the frizziness. I shampooed my hair like the last four times I washed it (I wash once a week) which is about how long my hair has been frizzy lately. Now I see what they mean when they say shampoo strips your hair of its natural oils.

have you tried sealing your hair with an oil after you wash? that helps me as well with dryness n stuff. i got a massive collection of oils and just routate depending on my mood or what i think my hair feels like. i do this every time my hair gets wet. washing, shower, pool etc.

I haven't been, but I will start now. Is olive oil a good oil?

Olive oil grapeseed oil sweet almond oil castor oil jojoba oil

curlyty07: i used to use olive oil quiet a bit, but i dont any more, my hair changed for same strange reason n it now hates olive oil. though lots of curlies swear by it and when i used it i really liked it as well.
Curly Sara: i do it as a final rinse. so after my low poo and i dont wash it out. the smell goes away as it drys. though same curlies leave it for a few minutes in then rinse it with water out. thats fine as well, as long as you rinse with cold water. |
Does the oil get massaged on the scalp or does it go on all your hair.
