I'm just looking for gels that have succeded with ppl with the same hair type, even if we dont have the same hair characteristics. What gels are you in love with?


I have shoulder length 3c hair, course, highly dense, it soaks up everything so I guess its highly porous? I just need a good gel that wont harden my hair to much and limit the movement and bounce of my curls.

Eco styler gel! Hands down the best gel I have ever used, and the best price.

I would get the "crunchy" hair before I knew how to best use it. On youtube I learned how to mix eco styler with my shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie, and plopping helps a ton to get rid of the crunch!

I too have 3c almost shoulder length hair that is highly porous.

Yes lawd.. this. IC Fantasia is the stuff! What really like about it is that I find it works on all types of porosity for me (and i've had them all now).

I really enjoy using flax seed gel. It's Naptural85's recipe of YouTube. I use it along with a leave-in conditioner (kimmaytube version) and whipped Shea butter. I do not get the crunchy feeling. When I don't feel like making FSG I use EcoStyler Gel Argan Oil. FSG only has 3wk fridge life. I don't use too much of the EcoStyler because it can flake. Both I find work great, no complaints.

I used to LOVE my AmproStyl Clear Protein Gel but I tried Naptural85's recipe as well but substituted water for aloe vera juice and that gel is amazing! Hands down my new favorite gel!

I have mid back length 3c hair, fine/medium, porous hair

I like Eco styler Agran Oil, or Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel

I whip Gel, Coconut Oil, and Shea butter, for the best styler Ever!

I live in a very dry place+ have porous hair, so avoiding cripy hair is a must


-spritz with (water/aloe vera juice) mix
- smooth a quarter size amount Yes to cucumber conditioner over whole head
-apply styler mix

Soft bouncy Curls every time!
