Default Applying product on soaking wet hair vs. damp hair

Hey all, I usually apply my leave-in directly after I get out of the shower on soaking wet hair without using a towel to dry it. Does anyone use a towel to blot their hair before applying their leave-in? I've seen a few videos on youtube where some people have used a towel to dry their hair. I think the next time I wash my hair I'm gonna towel blot it to see if it makes a difference.

I do something kinda like that. Immediately following my final cool rinse, I apply a little Hair Dew to my entire head (just switched from using the SheScentit LI) and I wrap my hair in a towel (flour sack) to soak up most of the water. I then do four sections and apply my "main" LI (CJ Argan & Olive Oil condish) , seal with an oil and twist & clip the sections up. I then do some other post-shower rituals and then proceed with styling my hair which is now damp and thoroughly moisturized and sealed.

WnG, I now add my moisturizer and gel OR for Braidouts/Twistouts , I now add my curl butter.

Hmm, I never thought about applying something while it's soaking wet, then drying it off some and then applying my leave-in, I may have to try that.

Interesting thread. I always wonder how long it takes for a product to penetrate thoroughly. I need to experiment.

I usually put product on wet hair but lately I've been doing it to damp m, towel dried hair. I have to say I like the results better. My hair seems to absorb everything easier that way.

I would say DAMP Hair, hands down.

After my final rise, I warp my hair in an old t-shirt, and go about my business. The when I remove the shirt my hair is damp. This is when I apply my leave-in & seal

With this method I have noted:

Less Frizz
More Juicy Clumped Curls
Less time spend walking around with a wet head!

Damp hair definitely works best for me. My hair is much fluffier and my curls are more defined.

It depends on how much definition I want, and whether I want to use gel.

Soaking hair + LI + Oil+ Gel = Super defined but not voluminous hair. I do this if I want to wear the wash n go for a couple of days

Damp hair + LI + Oil + Gel = slightly defined and slightly voluminous. 2nd day hair only if I do an updo.

My usual go to is: Soaking hair + LI + Curl creme + Oil.

With all of these I'll re mist for extra clumping and plop for about 20 minutes.

I add all products wet hair. Once I have applied all the products, I use a microfiber towel to absorb the excess.
