You can see in my picture I have short hair, and I plop and all that. I want more of the helena bonham carter volume and wanted to know if that was possible with my hair type without a TON of work?

THIS is how I wish mine looked but with my lenght
http://www.media-courses.com/blog/wp...carter-083.jpg

This is the biggest I can get it. The top always seems so flat even with plopping and scrunching i feel so lost.

OH ALSO, I have the front clipped back which is making it look like i have more volume that usual... sorry

PS. I am serving no makeup acne showing tired realness. Sigh!

3a brunette/grey but dyed curls
Pernicious Anemia has me at 20% grey now!
I don't do CG. I use whatever shampoo and conditioner I have which is almost always garnier
Cleanse: Garnier Triple Nutrition Shampoo
Condition:Garnier Triple Nutrition Conditioner
Stylers: Garnier scrunch gel, argan/coconut oil, Got2Be Kinky mousse. Varies.
Tshirt plopper and super scruncher
My goodness, you are very pretty and you don't look tired at all! Have you tried using a volumizing foam? Unfortunately, Helena's hair may just be thicker than yours (or mine!).

Let us know if you find something that really works for you.
2/c and some 3A. Modified CG.
Protein sensitive
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.
Every day is a gift
Have you tried diffusing upside down that helps me I have 3c hair that is pretty thick but its at a point it falls flat I've remedied this by diffusing my hair upside down and pineappling at night
curlypearl likes this.

I like Deva Volumizing foam. I'm not a "true believer" in all Deva products, but this one works very well for me. If you try any products that you really like, please let us know.

You are so so so pretty. Don't pine for that hair. Yours is fabulous! Use a root lifter, after your hair is 80% dry, turn upside down and rotate fingers to ruffle up the root. Spray with CG friendly hairspray.

2b/c wavy modified CG since July 2012
medium texture, normal porosity, normal elasticity
hair likes protein, doesn't like oils, easily OC'd

low poo: JCHCC, CJGCS

stylers: a bunch of stylers that are all pretty much the same (KCCC, UFDCM, CRCM, CKCJ) or ArcAngel if I need more hold
DT/PT: CJRM, CNPF
A mousse might give you more volume than gel, as gel tends to define and elongated curls, weighing them down just a bit. A mousse made specially for volumizing would help. I know Garnier Fructis makes one, but not sure if its CG. Hope this helps? God bless!
I use either octopus clips to lift the roots along my crown. They work pretty well. I ordered the roller jaw clamps from curly hair solutions though because my longer hair sometimes curls around the octuples clips' handles and tangles. Here's a pic after I used the octopus clips:

There's a bit of frizz, but the roots are lifted.

I'm pretty sure Helena teases her hair quite a bit a the top. She often has a bit of frizz, too. Just part of her look.

You can try separating the curls to get that lift. Teasing gently, too, if you are up for it.

I agree on the volumizing foam, and you might have to hit it with some hairspray.
