Question Joining the swim team: what should I do to protect my hair?

I'm joining the swim team which means that I'm going to be swimming at least 2 hours a day, 5 days a week.

I can't wash my hair everyday: it is high porosity already, and even DevaCurl No-Poo is too drying on a daily basis (I usually wash about 3-4 times a week)

My plan right now is to use an olive oil spray. I'll wet my hair before practice, spray it lightly with olive oil, and spray the inside of my cap (which I bought because of it's heavy water resistance) with oil before I put it on.

Is their anything else I might be able to do to reduce damage? (btw, my hair is short [about 2 in. off the shoulder] and I got it cut last week. Practices start in 2 weeks)
