humid Florida weather products
Hi I live in Florida and want to follow the CG method. What kind of products and routines do you recommend? This newbie needs some serious advice. I love my curly hair, but I need less frizz and more volume in my life. My hair looked great on valentines day, but it rained and got frizzy.

FL weather is like what many of us have in the summer. You may want to search sealing--essentially adding oil/butter/really rich product to lock moisture in and prevent your hair from absorbing moisture from the air. The best way to choose ingredients/products is according to hair properties. Here's a link to help you with yours Live Curly Live Free - Curly Hair Basics Once you determine your properties, you can look for others with hair like yours and see what they use (in signatures.) It's the best place to start.
Knowing your properties also helps people advise you.

I apologize, it shows my signature online but not on the app it seems. My hair is 3a, low porosity, medium density, and fine. I will take your advice and search for sealants. Thanks.

Actually, your signature didn't show online when I looked. It does now. My hair is also fine/low porosity. It doesn't care for straight oils/butters, but likes them in well formulated products.
My mother lives in FL, so I have an idea of what your dewpoints are like--the worst days of a mid Atlantic summer. In the really high dewpoints, I use a leave in OR curl enhancer (meaning one layer) with a jelly product. My hair doesn't care for the chemicals in gels, especially the polyquats. Try using a minute amount of a really rich product that takes a while to absorb and follow with a jelly/gel.
Because my hair is low porosity, it's frequently dry before the products are absorbed. My hair gets better as the day goes on.

you could try to use products with humectants in it (like glycerin), especially if you are highly porous. And indeed sealing can help to lock the moisture inside your hair

Bleached-damaged 3a hair. Fine, porous&dry, medium to high density. Goal: growing the painted hair out (I only do some highlights in the out grow every 3-4 months), and have long healthy hair till at least BSL when curly.
loves: CJ products, jessicurl rocking ringlets, proteïn, co-washing, leave-in conditioner, diffusing, air-drying, pineapple method.
hates: glycerin in low dews, bleaching too much
Experimenting with MSM&biotin on the moment

I understand your dilemma since I live in Miami, FL. The weather here can change in an instance. It always amazes me how I can drive into pouring rain and in seconds I'm driving into nothing but sun and blue skies (this all while getting home from work which is about 15 mins away). This is not good for my very frizzy hair. I am thinking of trying curl keeper since it has really good reviews and is suppose to control frizz really well. Just wish I could purchase it in stores and not just online. I have heard that personal lubricants such as KY have similar ingredients and can be use as an alternative. Haven't tried this myself so I can't say if it works or not. You can check out YouTube as well for reviews on frizz controlling products and methods.

The generic liquid lubricant is the closest, the cheapest I found was the CVS brand. That's what waterlily716 (I think that's right?) used in her YouTube review. I've only been CG in winter so haven't tried it in FL humidity yet, no dice in low dews, that's for sure.
