Default I want more volume :(

So, this is my hair

But I want it to look more like this:

So actually, more volume, more frizz ( for some reason I LOVE frizzy hair)
Anyone an idea how I can achieve that? my curls are way too 'defined' for me (no frizz, no volume)
Thanks

Do you diffuse your hair? I notice my hair comes out flatter if I just let it air dry. I'm honestly not sure what you can do to produce more frizz besides touching it constantly lol

If you get a hair pick and flip your head upside down and pick it out, it should help separate your curls and build some volume. You may have to re-do that throughout the day to KEEP them separated though (some of my curls try to "merge" again after I separate them), or hairspray it or something.

DevaCurl Frizz Free Volumizing Foam adds texture which helps add volume.

In order for me to get more volume I have to give up some curl definition. If you look at the pictures of the volumned hair they do not have as much curl definition as you do.

I'm not sure what your technique is but I would suggest scrunching your products into your hair upside down and not have your hair soaking wet. Diffusing with your head down will help with the volumne. Then scrunch your hair and use your hands like a rake at your scalp to raise the hair off your scalp but do not pull through the hair or else it will get too frizzy. Also using an afro pick will help with this.

thanks for the tips! I normally let my hair airdry for about 50-70% and the rest I do with a diffuser Because I once did it with a diffuser right from the start, and I don't know if it is because I used too much mousse, but it looked really weird Guess I gotta try it without using mousse

Your hairstyle is adorable! I'm alway trying to get more volume too and it helps when I diffuse upside down. I try to get less frizz though while still adding some height on top. I bought the Curly hair solutions clamps and am still trying to figure out how to use them to get more volume...but so far, I've only managed to get less root curl that way with just a bit more height.
Maybe a thickening product would help?

I too want more volume, and for me. I think that means getting more layers (though not too short around the face). I already diffuse upside down, but it doesn't seem to help Coconut Oil as a deep conditioning overnight treatment has left my curls very droopy

GOOOOOOSH Your hair is so beautiful! It's pretty much the same length and curl pattern as mine!

**Edit: I am also a low-porosity redhead.

Trying out: Suave Naturals wild strawberry (co-wash) Garnier Fructis Pure and Clean fortifying conditioner, Redken crystal curls 6, Live Clean Argan Oil Treatment, Pantene curl shaping gel
Thinking of trying: Live Clean Argan oil conditioner or Live Clean Bali Oil conditioner....who recommends them?

Loreal evercurl sulfate-free conditioning cleanser, AG re:coil, Curl Keeper, LA Looks Sport Gel

Alternatively, I use Shea Moisture growth milk and Kinky Curly Curling Custard.

I tried Aphogee 2-step protein treatment followed by Hello Hydration conditioner and I noticed no difference! I let it get hard, used heat and nada.

I get that longer hair weighs down the curl and all, but my hair is so so super fine I didn't think a cut would solve my teeny tiny "clumps" if you can even call them that. Yes, it will fix the stringyness toward the bottom, but how do I get bigger plumper clumps?
