You can be an in-betweeny... I am. 2C on its own, more and more 3A the more I do CG/learn new techniques/use different products/add protein. Plus my hair has its own opinion on a day-to-day basis.

well put. we don't have to anthropomorphize curly hair. it does it on its own day in and day out.

LOL Dusalocks, exactly! I compared caring for my hair to trying to feed a baby on some other thread: it can't talk, but it sure can express what it likes and dislikes.

I use waaaay too many metaphors. It comes from being a tutor and TA. People glom on to metaphors when an idea eludes them, and different people require different metaphors to have that "click" moment. Therefore, I always have two or three for any given situation. Hair is just full of metaphor material!

i also was a TA and a tutor in my past life. i love me some metaphors. and similes. and analogies. . . :icescream:

omg curly hair is like a big ole baby. waah. feed the curl some protein. feed the frizz some emollients. seal me! bathe me! moisturize me! dry me! hey-don't ruffle me or tousle me! leave me alone! and where is my towel? no, not that one, i want this one. not that diffuser. the big one! and where do you think you're going with those scissors? hey don't you dare cut me. you cut me and i'm gonna throw a frizzy tantrum right about now. :angry7:

haha, this is so right! I've sometimes thought of it as a very temperamental pet, but the baby comparison is much better! And just when you think you've set it up to manage without attention for a short while, it can't cope! Mine is like a child that won't sleep through, even though it should be doing by now.
