Default Shedding

Everytime I wash and style my hair I pull out so much hair! Let me rephrase.. I lose so much hair. In the shower while I condition and comb a clump of hair comes out. When I stlye as I am putting the product in my hair a bunch of other clumps come out!! Am I doing something wrong or is this normal???

This happens to me too, it always has. This is my theory: we don't brush or comb our hair between washes typically, and if we're going a couple days between washes there's bound to be some hair that's technically fallen out but still held in by the rest of the hair. Combing makes it fall out. Does the hair falling out bother you? Personally I wouldn't worry unless you notice thinning places in your hair or something of that sort.

Hi love!! Sorry that you are experiencing this but I have one question: How often are you putting protein in your hair? With natural hair, you must have a balance of moisture and protein. Shedding is very normal but volumes of shed is NOT, in my opinion and when it happened to me I did something about it, it scared me half to death! lol If your hair is shedding ALOT like this then I definitely suggest that you look into adding protein in your regimen. I use an Aphogee Protein treatment about every 4 to 6 weeks and it is AMAZING and strengthens my hair so much! I literally see little to NO shedding after I do the treatment. IF you chose the Aphogee treatment BE VERY CAREFUL AND REAL THE INSTRUCTIONS, DO RESEARCH!! You could opt to do natural protein treatments like a deep condition mixture of eggs, mayo, avocado, organic honey, Etc. Either one of these will be great. Follow up with your natural oils and I guarantee that you will see a difference. I hope this helps!! Please keep me updated!

+1, as this is my theory for my hai, too. In the shower and while styling wet, I shed a LOT of hair, then when it is dry, I hardly shed any hair at all and I'm pretty sure it's getting caught up in the waves/curls. I don't have thin spots, either. My hair did this pre-CG, too, when for the most part I was wearing it wavy/curly (albeit frizzy) and using sulphate/silicone. The only time I didn't shed was when I was pregnant, however, post pregnancy I could've made a wig with the amount of hair I shed in such a short time!

do you notice any hair thinning?

I am quite proud of my hair technique. I get less hair loss, BUT there is a area at the crown getting wider and shinier with scalp.

so, unless you notice a difference in hair thickness and you are doing everything right, it may just be shedding, but hopefully not breakage.

I shed a ton too. I don't have any bald patches or thin spots I just shed like crazy. I thought protein was bad for curly hair? I'm so confused.

Don't worry its natural. That happens because curly haired people don t brush their hair so the fallen hairs stay in hair and because when you condition your hair you brush it they fall
