AG Re:coil and flat hair. Tips to lift roots?

Hello everyone!
I just purchased Re:coil and I love it! I may have used a bit too much, so it's a little more weighed down than I would have liked, but I'll play around with it; however, my hair is strange in that it is very curly, but my roots are always flat. I love love love re:coil, but it seems that my roots are extra flat with this product. Any tips or tricks to lift my roots? Maybe flip my hair upside down and scrunch? Thank you for any responses
Have u tried lifting this area of your head using a blow dryer with a diffuser attachment? Also sometimes using an afro pic or wide tooth comb to gently comb your roots might create more volume. Naturally Curly recommends plopping as well.

Re:coil can be tricky. I have to use much less than I would with other styling products. And I have to comb it through my hair, or it winds up very uneven.

I also tend to have flat roots. One thing I do is to turn upside down and loosen the few inches near the roots by running my fingers through. Not all the way to the end or it gets too wild! I also use clips on the top for about 10 minutes. I used to struggle with the metal clips until my stylist pointed out that putting in two or three ordinary claw clips works just as well.
SweetRellie--I haven't tried that, but I definitely will! I've always been scared of a diffuser because of bad memories from blowing my hair straight but I'll definitely try it. Thank you!

SuZen--Yes, I found that out the hard way. I tried it again today and I used much less with much better results. And I do flip my hair upside down and it just doesn't seem to be enough--probably because my hair is way too long and in desperate need for a hair cut. The little silver clips have always caused me trouble, but I've never thought about using claw clips. I'll play around with that, too! Thanks for the help!
Just be sure to blow dry on a medium or cool setting

I'm trying something new with re:coil since i only have an ounce or so left in my bottle.

I find because I have fine hair, my favourite combo of CK and Re:coil weighed my hair down at the same time as killing frizz and giving me great definition and hold.

So, taking a page from the poster who dilutes her CO for washing because otherwise she gets weighed down and greasy looking, I've added about 4 ounces of water to my Re:coil bottle to dilute it. I've mixed it well and plan to use it tomorrow to try and see if I still get the great definition and hold but with less weightiness.

I'll update how it goes. Another potential bonus is that if my hair does better with the diluted Re:coil, my costs for using it will go way way down since a bottle would probably last me a year or two.

I'm back to update how my diluted Re: coil worked out. It's great!!! I diluted it with 4 parts warm water to 1 part re:coil and mixed it in a measuring cup with a whisk to make sure it was well blended. I used it the next morning as usual with my CK. One layer CK and 2 pumps of my Re:coil and another layer of CK. My hair has been great, good and good for the last 3 days. This is a winner for sure for my fine looser curl hair.

The re:coil supplies the hold and grip I need and the CK kills the frizz. Now I'm going to try layering a LI underneath as my hair was a bit dry feeling this morning.
