Hello! Products for my curls?

Hello I'm new here to Naturally Curly and woo! a forum!

I'm going to need to learn how to get my hair down all day for work because I look like a kid at work with a pony tail/ braids all over my head (I'm a petite).

I'm looking for something that will elongate my hair because of my shrinkage of death and it goes east and west (<----->). I want north to south. I need a CG approved product. I prefer to have hair that can all fit on my back (a few on my shoulder is okay) because I also go outside during my job (so something good against any weather? I don't know what I'm saying anymore, but thanks for the help!) Any butter or oil or cream works. I have tried LA Looks Wet Gel, and boy did it just HATE my hair! Aussie also hates my hair (Stop fighting, guys!) Also Herbal Essence set me up 10 gel hates my hair, Seems that my hair hates glycerin?

Sorry for long description. Hopefully you'll help me on my journey! No more updo for meI have straightened my hair once or twice in my life.
Oh my hair is very dry and when I pull a piece of hair, it breaks really fast
The first thing to learn is your hair properties. It's the best way to choose ingredients/products. Here's a link to help Curly Hair Basics | Live Curly Live Free Once you determine your properties, look for others with hair like yours and see what they use. It's the best place to start.

Other things to take into consideration is where you live, dewpoint, hard water and other environmental conditions.
