Why does it take so flipping long to dry my gel!!!

It takes like 4-7 hours to dry (that's a school days). I really like it when it hardens because I know that it will stay that way, but since it doesn't, I keep touching it to see if it is which equals frizzzzzz! The goo from ecostyler stays on soo long because it's still wet!

My hair is the same way. I style my hair at night and plop overnight. In the morning I let it dry another 2 hours after I get up and fluff it out. This is the only thing that works for me since I have to be at work at 7 am.

Low-poo: Nourish Shampoo
Co-wash: Suave, Vo5, HE, Aussie Moist
Deep Conditioner: GVP Conditioning Balm
Leave-in: Nourish Conditioner (Trader Joe's)
Stylers: LA Looks Sports, Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil.
Methods: Wet plop or pineapple at night, diffuse in the morning. Scrunch w/joboba, coconut or almond oil.
My hair takes forever & decades to dry. What I do is after I have styled my hair is turn on my ceiling fan to speed up the drying process.
Yep. Been seven hours since I showered and my hair is still damp. My hair has always taken forever to dry but then putting gel in it just makes it take longer. But I can't go without gel or its frizz city. I would rather air dry but I'm thinking about trying to blow dry again. I just don't like the results as well when blow drying.
Do any of you use the blow dryer?

If I want volume then I'll diffuse on a low heat but if I don't want big hair then I will use a low heat, low speed with the nozzle. I turn it so its vertical and keep the hair dryer above my head so it dries downwards. I will move the drier down, but at an angle so the hair never lifts, so that I can dry my scalp and roots. The nozzle gets in between the clumps (closer to the root) but the speed is not high enough rip them apart and cause frizz. My hair also takes a whole day to air dry and I can't stand it as damp hair makes my scalp itch. Hope this helps.
Do you have low porosity? Such hair takes ages to dry. I can imagine that drying time is even longer with gel, since it forms a cast around the hair.

To reduce drying time, you can plop and/or use a diffuser. I recommend the pixie girl method. Never use a blow dryer without diffuser on your curls.

I have this problem too, it's frustrating. We're not supposed to let anything disturb it while it's drying, but this is made difficult by the fact that it takes forever to dry. I pixy diffuse if I don't have hours to sit around waiting for my hair to do its' thing.

My hair is the same way, and I don't use gel. Takes a full 45 mins to diffuse dry & I'm too lazy for that. Takes 4-5 hours to air dry (again, no gel). I read all this about sock curls or braiding damp hair & sleeping on it for loose waves in the morning & I just laugh. I've tried, and my hair will never dry. I can go to sleep on damp, unplopped hair & wake up with damp hair. If I put it up in a clip in the morning when it's not all the way dry, at the end of the day I'll take it down & it's still not dry. I've honestly given up a lot lately. I rarely do my hair anymore, I just put it up.
fine, thin, normal/(low?) porosity. Mod-CG. Usually I can't co-wash more than 1x a week, & sometimes I have to use T-Gel in rotation due to scalp issues.

Co-wash: VO5 Volumizing

Wow, I need to stop touching my curls while drying then. But I get so self conscious of my hair. I keep squeezing it and grabbing a tshirt, but I guess that's a big no-no!

I have the same problem. I usually air dry my hair when I'm home but when I need to be somewhere I use a dryer bonnet. It's an attachment that goes on the end of a hair dryer. I sit at my desk, eat my breakfast and check my email and forums while the bonnet is on my head. It takes about 20 mins to dry it enough that I can leave. It's still not totally dry, but dry enough that it's not sopping wet.

I have one similar to this one: http://www.amazon.com/Spilo-Hairware...yle+hair+dryer

Just make sure you get one with a chin strap or else it won't stay on.
