How often do you wash n go in the summer? It's crazy hot in VA and I feel like my product evaporates! I do 2-3 times a week when it's 95+ such misery but the wet hair feels so good in the summer!

I'm splitting my time between Richmond and PA so I definitely feel you on the magical disappearing product act. I cowash about twice a week, but I have no shame in soaking my hair and restyling about every other day if the temps/humidity/etc. demand it.

I am in VA too! I've been on my normal 2-3 days but its getting rare for having a third day. I also had to give up honey in my flaxseed curl cream and use aloe vera gel.

Or, if I am pushed for time, I use a regular rinse out conditioner.instead. I go back and forth at this time between doing wash and gos or simply bunning my hair for the week (which I prefer to do the most in very hot and humid weather). When I do wear my hair in a wash and go, I normally end up pulling my hair back into a ponytail with a scrunchie by the time afternoon rolls around. That is basically all that I do. I try to keep things as simple as possible.

Plus, when it comes to Hurricane Season that is something that, due to my living in Southeastern Louisiana I always have to worry about each year, about my area possibly getting hit again. As, when these Hurricanes or even Tropical Sorms hit my area, I am left with no power for days, they do shut the water and utilities off especially, when it is a Hurricane my area is dealing with. Yes, my family does evacuate, but you come back life is anything but normal. have to deal with them putting the water back on, I have to go to the few stores that are able to re-open, to get food and water to live off. The power has been cut off in my area sometimes for well over a week. And, I can totally forget about my hair, as my head be sweating so much and I can't wash it all. I simply have to do the best I can until the utilities and water is restored. Which is why, I have learned never to take anything for granted, not even the small things.

The one I use is indeed the one for sunburns/first aid but if you have a big enough aloe plant you can harvest the gel from the leaves too. Not at all a silly question.

I make up frozen flaxseed gel cubes- I use about a one inch cube of flaxseed gel, around the same amount of conditioner, and at most a teaspoon of the aloe vera gel. The recipe is from (based on one from) the science-y hair blog. I wasn't a fan of using only aloe gel but that can be different for everyone.

As far as taking them out of the freezer it depends on how much time I have. If it's the weekend or I have lots of time, I'll take them out of the freezer that morning and give them however long they need to defrost. If I have to go somewhere, about 30 seconds in the microwave, or 5-10 minutes in container that I put in a hot water bath usually do the trick.

Sounds like everyone is pretty similar! I'm glad to know I'm not overdoing it... Trying to stick to natural products so I won't need any shampoo and can just cowash whenever needed. Also trying not to go crazy in detangling each time. So far so good !

Same as everyone here really, about three times a week! I do karate twice during the week, so I like to wash it then (hate the post-workout hair) and then I wash it once on the weekends so I can do a DC sesh.
