How to wear hair at the beach

I'm a 3b with medium -coarse hair and very prone to frizz. I have a haircut that works for work but it's more layered and I'm wondering if anyone can suggest how to wear medium length (shoulderish) hair at the beach. I also like to swim if its warm enough. I'm thinking braids, but my cut doesn't allow one braid. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Are you a proficient enough braider or do you know someone who could do a braid across the front that loops around the back into a bun/ponytail, or swirled looking braid?

Possibly even one halo or crown braid?
3C/4A, fine texture, low-medium density, and low porosity?

Pre-Poo: Coconut Oil overnight, or a greek yogurt mixture
Shampoo: Curls Cleanser and/or clarifier
Conditioner: trying out different Suave Naturals conditioners and GVP's leave-in conditioner at the moment
Styler: iagirl's super smooth flax curl cream. <3
PT: iagirl's gelatin treatment 3-4 times a month
DT: conditioner or yogurt base with honey and oil if the conditioner has none.
I have shoulderish hair and find these work well:
Two 'pigtails'.
A nice side fishtail braid.
A top knot.
A very high ponytail.

Aiming for WL curls (eventually)
I would say braids. Pony tails might pull the roots so you might not want to do that (trust me, I balded a bit from a ponytail)

Frizz loves me
I hate frizz
It sticks to me
like a kid
with some creams
and some gel
and then nothing does the trick

I used to wear pigtails when I wasn't sure what to do with my curls at that awkward length. Or a hat.
2c-3a - coarse - normal-high porosity - high density - growing out to donate

NP/LP: KMF Whenever Conditioner/ YTCucs
RO/LI: Sevi Pumpkin Seed DC / CJ Argan & Olive Oil, KCKT, YTBbs
DT: Coconut Oil + scalp massage
OIL/STYLER: SM Elixir / KCCC

Thanks for the feedback, I'm experimenting with braids.
And bring a good hat. The sun can damage your hair just like a hot blow dry. Maybe worse.
The braids lolo918 recommended sound nice, but I'm not sure my hair is long enough. No I'm not a proficient braider. I need to learn.
That may be problematic. I saw this suggested in another thread about summer camps I think but what about braiding, twisting, or pinning back the front pieces and leaving the back free. With twisting, I mean a rope braid/flat twists. With pinning, this could be "faux" twists. Make a part going ear to ear, then section that off into 4 or more sections. In each section, you are folding the hair on itself, almost like a french twist only going the length of the parted section, so you're smoothing and tucking while adding more hair. This video shows what I'm talking about around the 1:19 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyM***Ehy-8

I am loving the styles in this blog too (ok well I love the blog too): Science-y Hair Blog: Hairstyles for Not-Thick Hair!
Iagirls hair is about shoulder length too in the blog posts- the twist around the head might be the best one. The lone commenter indicated that she used this type of style to grow out a pixie after her top layers were long enough to cover her ears. She also mentioned with shorter hair that you can twist as far around as you can, then secure the ends down.

I usually just put my hair in two loose braids and wear a hat. The beach weather doesn't usually seem to agree with my hair, so it's great at keeping my hair out of my face and protected from the sun.
Thanks lolo918. I got an error trying to see the you tube video in multiple browsers. I might resort to the pigtails. Any idea what the video was called?
I couldn't find it again- and I could not for the life of me remember which of my subscriptions it came off of, lols. I'm so sorry about that- it errored for me too. I did find this one, which shows what I'm talking about. She calls them french twist faux cornrows, and the vloggers name is Niamh Martin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFEsOHIUVNI

I like to put my hair in several jumbo twists or braids then throw them into a high bun. It always looks really cute. With shorter hair you can do a low bun.
I put a hat on, ball cap style, then pull what pony tail I can through the hole in the back of the cap.
On my last swim I bought a new hat, omg a cowboy awesome hat, and I put my hair in a simple bun. You see it gets longer enough that I can put it in a bun but braids kick my butt.
