Help please

I'm 3a medium-course, dense. Need help with all aspects of my hair. Please
I'd love to help (I doubt how helpful I'll actually be, though)! Is there any particular place you'd like to start?
What products are best for me to use? I've been using devacurl, but it leaves a build up on my hair, especially my scalp and roots. I'm also not sure about drying it. If I air dry it takes all day, if I diffuse it then the ends frizz. I am open to suggestions. Thank you so much!
I've never used devacurl products (too expensive in my opinion) but it could just be their products don't work for you. If you'd like to try something lighter, VO5 conditioners are light and CG-friendly. You could also look into Suave Naturals, which are slightly heavier. In all cases, you may have to avoid putting the conditioner at your roots and make sure to rinse thoroughly. If build-up continues, you might be one of those curlies that has to wash with a low-sulfate shampoo (I can't recommend a brand here since I just use full-on sulfate shampoos).

As for drying, I wash my hair at night, put on my cap, put my hair in a braid the next day, and let it air dry. If you'd like to wear it down, I would suggest washing at night and using hair gel. For me, hair gel helps my hair dry faster (I don't really know why) and washing it at night gives it a chance to break up the gel cast as I sleep. I don't use a diffuser because it takes a nightmarishly long time to dry.

I hope this kinda points you in a good direction!

That is where you place the diffuser, turn it on, leave it for 30 second intervals, then turn it off and move it, repeat all over. That should let you diffuse without creating frizz.
