Post images of 3b or 3b/c hair here...

Original message:

I lack the computer skills to post pictures from the web (but would love it if someone posted a step-by-step how-to if they feel like it ). Anyway, I wanted to start this thread to invite other curlies to post their favorite pictures. Lots of images have been posted on the 3C board which helps to explain the lovely spectrum of tight curly ringlets that represents that sub-hair type .... I thought it might be fun to start something like that here!

:P

ETA:

From our sister 3C pictures thread..... Here are great, clear instructions for how to post pictures (courtesy of Amneris, CurliTresses, and Cehua ):

Right click on the image and an address will pop up. Then click on "properties" after you right click the image. Copy and paste the url into your post.

Or if you do a Google image search then click on "view image" and cut and paste the url.

After pasting url into your NC.com post, highlight address and then click on Img. It should look like this but without the spaces between the url and img:

Check to make sure the image shows up by clicking on "preview."

Good idea, Curltopia, for some inspiration. But I don't know how to do that either...

Great idea! Curltopia. I'll see what I can do and if I figure it out first. But I'll have to try this later as I can't rite at the moment.

ETA: I just tried adding a pic of 3b but was not able to. Will try again later.

ETA again: I meant if I CAN or am able to figure it out.
HairType: multi-texture 3a/b/c

there may be a faster way, but this works.
Right click on the image and an address will pop up. Write it down accurately.
go to your nc.com post and type in the address. Then right click IMG and URL on the post.

The problem for me is *finding* the pictures. It is so hard to find 3b+ pictures that have not been straightened.

Oooh Thanks Amneris . I got it to work. But I think if when you right-click on image you may have to select properties and then block and copy address from there. I have a question. Are we allowed to use curly hair pics of anyone/unknown pic we may find on web or only of celebrities? Hope my question made sense.

ETA: Cehua, we answered almost same time, but yes blocking, copying, then pasting makes it easier.

Ok, I am going to try it!!!

Thanks women!

and, Curlitresses, re: your question, I would only post celebreties or people whose permission you have to use their picture.

It is so hard to tell too because like you said Amneris, celebrities usually alter their texture through heat and professional styling.

She does have pretty hair regardless of her "hair type."

Cehua - THANKS for getting the image to pop up!!

As for Sofia Milos's hair type, if you go to her web-site there are a ton of pictures of her with long bouncy curls. To me, that is 3b because there are more curls than waves. But maybe she is a 3b/3a blend with more waves towards the top.

Clearly, I am picture posting challenged, but here are some celebrities that I think of based on hair type:

3b: Sofia Milos, Melina Kanakeredes, Minnie Driver, Carole King, Alex Kingston

3b/c: Noemi Lenoir, Lisa Bonet, A. Lemerieux

(Rae Dawn Chong - I love her hair and have seen it with bigger and smaller curls, so she is definitely in the gray zone... of course )

3c: Nancy Randall, Valeria Valenssa, Rachel True

3c/4a: Cree Summer

All of these women are stunning b/t/w....

So many celebrities alter their curl size and texture but it is just fun to post the pictures for inspiration and styling ideas. I think there are very few people who fit exactly in Andre’s categories. Even with our own hair, the look/curl size and texture depend on styling, products, length, and the weather (and perception LOL).

Lets post more pictures!

Cehua-

WOW, Nancy Randall is a knock out in that picture I guess she just looks good in every picture....

I feel bad that you have to bear the brunt of picture posting, then again, you have excellent taste to accompany your skills

I'm glad you agree with my examples... Cree Summer just confuses me because every picture I've seen of her, I just don't see the curl definition that you associate with 3c - those awesome, well-formed curls that you and Shyygirl have, for example.... that's why I put her in the next category as a blend with 4a. Her hair hangs like 3c but doesn't appear to form ringlets - you just kind of see hair! LOL... But it is pretty hair, which goes to show that 4a hair can look great too! I think that bears emphasizing because Type 4 hair sometimes gets the shaft - although I think it's cool in magazine articles when they style anglo blonde models with afro-type hair styles. It usually looks cool!

I see what you mean about Cree. When her hair is longer she has defined curls but shorter you cannot see the curl pattern. Funny, Andre considered her a 3b (which would be a 3c now I guess).

I read this somewhere and thought it was cute (sorry about the guano):

a nap is just a curl suffering from size discrimination.
4a+ hair is beautiful too. If your hair is healthy and well styled it is beautiful.

Guano over: Here is a picture to make up for the guano (leaving the 3b thread now LOL)

Cehua - You have a gift for finding and posting pictures! as I learned in your Johnny threads

Alex Kingston is a poster child for 3b and makes me see that Sofia Milos is definitely a 3a/b mix.... Oh well, we've covered the gamut in this thread, huh?

Nancy Randall's picture clinched it - I have 3b hair.
Mixed AA 3b/3c hair. past shoulders. superfine texture. Natural - no colours or relaxers in over 4 years.
I would have to say that my hair looks most like Sofis Milos' hair. Except her hair starts to curl a little higher up then my hair. I would post pictures of my hair so y'all could "type" it for me, but I don't have any pics, much less a site to host them! I'll probably figure it out later . . . .
I'm a 2something/3something. Started modified CG routine on 6/6/05
Cut more than ten inches from my BSL hair on 8-10-05 and growing it long again
But we're STILL adjusting.
