Hey subbrock, I feel you about nappturality! I love the board, but they won't even talk about heat styling! Except to say don't do it. And don't get me started on their aversity to hair types . I don't really think that's fair, since I'm pretty sure at least half the board uses some form of heat on their hair. I don't use heat now except to deep condition, but I would like to wear my hair straight once in a while for a change or to check on my growth progress when I get a trim. But, I still love nappturality, because that's where I cut my teeth when it came to learning about transitioning. And many members there are quite helpful.

Do y'all consider all these pictures 3c, or are some 3b/c and some even 3b? Some of these definitely look like my hair and some are looser, so either I am a full 3c, or some of these pictures aren't. My personal opinion is that these are all pictures of MIXED (with A-A and other) hair, but the types are very different.

Going by curl size only, I think the ones I posted are 3cs. I think of 3c curls medium to tight. In other words, 3c is not as big/loose as sidewalk chalk and not as small as a coffee stirrer is.

Your hair and some of the pictures I posted were more medium curl sizes. When I think of a "true" 3b I think of Alex Kingston or Buterflyprincess. Anything smaller is a 3b.5 or 3c.

Other curlies posted here look like 3c but are styled or altered to have fatter curls more 3b type curls but I think naturally they are 3cs (e.g., Kellis).

Thatís my opinion.

Which ones do not look like 3c to you?

Thiago doesn't seem as tight as some of the others - also I think Alana Davis' hair is a little looser, and the girl Potterville posted, and Nicole Ricca (true, their natural hair may or may not be 3c but to me in the pictures it isn't.)

When it comes to short hair I cannot tell. Alana and Thiago have the same type of hair. I was not sure if they are 3cs or 3bs. I guess they are 3bs. I can take them off if you would like.

Hmmm, Niccole looks 3b.5 or a "damp" 3c LOL in those pictures. I think she has pretty hair so she stays.

Oh no, don't take them off, they all have great hair to look at. I was just sayin', because some people seem so sure I'm not 3c and some think I definitely am, and I am confused... based on the range of pictures posted, I definitely think when natural, and even texturized, I fall into it.

If Alex Kingston is the poster girl for 3bs then you are a 3c.

I think people get confused because you can do so much with your hair (which I love that you can do that). You are more of the "medium" side of 3c, some others are on the "tighter" side, and some are in between but we are all 3cs.

Well, I think that the pictures are mostly gorgeous and very inspirational!

My natural hair has a looser curl which is why I call it 3b/c. By this time next year, I should have some real length that will show off the texture even more than my close up shots do now.

Anyway, let's keep the pictures coming
