I had an overcondition problem with honey. It took about 6 wks to happen, tho. I mixed Elucence and honey or molassess with my CO washes. It was great, my hair was moisturized and soft. Then, I started to get halo frizz bad. My other products didn't change, so I guessed it was an overcondition problem. I cut out the honey for a while and the frizz immediately went away. I still use honey/molasses if my hair feels dry, but I don't use it everyday now. I'm lazy about doing DT's, but I don't feel like I need it that much and honey or molasses seems to do the trick for immediate moistening results.

I'm new to the site and just scanning for tips and ideas. I'm trying some new things and maybe I'll add honey, too. I've read a couple of comments about ants in the bathroom but I have an even more disgusting fear... weather here is getting cool and we're seeing more ants indoors... if I put honey in my hair and leave it in, will I wake up in the morning with ants all over my head? Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it!

Hi Meadow!
Where from Central CA are you from? I am a Native of SF Bay Area until I moved to TX 20 months ago. I MISS CA!!! Mostly I miss my family
Anyway, on with business.......honey if FAB! You get instant results on the cheap. I wouldn't worry about getting ants in your hair. You shouldn't have that much honey in it to attract them. Too much is disastrous. You can use a lot while in the shower, but you need to rinse it well, but not completely out. Mix it with your conditioner or do a final honey rinse. Or you can add a TINY drop to your gel of choice when styling. Find what works for you thru experimenting. If ants in your cupboards is a problem, try putting your honey container in a large ziplock-type bag. Just a suggestion. Good luck!

I am absolutely intrigued by the use of honey in your hair! I'm definitely going to try this tonight! I love my curls, but my never ever shines. I don't think it ever has.

Razicelli-
Thanks for the suggestions! I live in Pacific Grove, a small town in the Monterey Bay Area. It's about 2 hours south of San Francisco.

OOoooohhh, I know where it is! Beautiful area!!!! My husband and I stayed there on our honeymoon weekend 16 yrs ago. I think it was the Hotel Pacific or something. It had a feather bed!!! We were two poor independent college students at the time and couldn't afford an exotic honeymoon. So we decided to spend a 3 day w/e in Carmel, Monterey, Pacific Grove. I think Clint Eastwood was the Mayor of Carmel at the time!!! I lived in the San Mateo County area and then bought a home in Castro Valley.............. I MISS CALIFORNIA!

I plan on trying this tomorrow. What the hell? It can't hurt.
I'm going to mix a small amount with my conditioner, rinse out, then spray a honey/warm water mix and distribute the way I would gel. Curious to see what happens.

Thanks for all the honey info. I literally read every message posted. LOL I'm going to the grocery store to buy some molasses TODAY. I can't use honey being that my hair is colored and I would just DIE if I ruined it. I condish rinsed this morning but I am Molasses/condish rinsing tonight. I can't wait. My boyfriend thinks I'm crazy because I'm so obsessed with my hair and curls. Does anyone else get this from their significant others?

Bumping because honey (molasses) is so great! I mixed it with Elucence condish, rinsed, and added it to Sebastion gel while styling. Great shine and hold.
Thanks for the tips guys!!
