I had a very BAD day with a honey and SIF concoction. I wasted such a GREAT product by doing this! Anyway, lesson learned!

sorry guys, haha, i know its been awhile for this topic!! and thanks for leading me here, urban curl!!
ok, so i usually use a quartersize conditioner and about a nickel size gel per section of my hair (i usually do 4 because i have THICK hair)
can i replace my gel with honey. i usually just use the gel for clump/hold, will honey do this for me?
thanks!!!

3b and extremely thick
i would love more controlled looser curls.
I always see threads on honey but I have a question. WARNING: It may be rediculous.... If I use the honey in the summer time, will I have to worry about bees chasing me?!?

Ama, honey might give you the hold and clumping you get from gel. Just make sure you waaayy less honey than you use gel! I'd experiment on a day when you don't have to go anywhere.

Kinanamo, in my experience, bees are not attracted to me when I use honey, don't worry!

There are these grit pieces stuck all around the inside of the jar and in the honey. I cant even get the honey to squeeze out of the container anymore. Anyone know what's up with that?

I buy mine locally and on the jar it says that because it's all-natural that that will happen and to just heat the jar or put it in a bowl of hot water, shake it and you're good to go.
I'm a 3b, with 3c underneath.

Used to be CG, now I'm not. Using Suave Aloe & Waterlily shampoo & condish, JoiWhip, BRHG, Suave Aloe gel, Aussie Tizz No Frizz, and anything else that looks good!
My Myspace!
Thanks JENN!!!! I will do that!

I think it counter-acts the preservatives... I think. Correct me if I'm wrong, someone.

Thanks for that information! Honey is indeed amazing

...So I just went out and bought some honey at the store after reading all of these comments! Wash day isn't until Monday, so I'll update then and let you all know how it went. (Does anybody else only condition-wash their hair twice a week? I only condish wash on Mondays and Thursdays...)
I couldn't find any "normal" honey at Kroger-- we scoured up and down the aisles, and since we were in a hurry, we ended up grabbing a bottle from the "natural foods" section. Does anyone know if this will make a difference?
Not all who wander are lost.

Fine and thin 3a. PW: curls
Any honey will do.

And I also only condition wash 2 or 3 times a week. The other day I just wet my hair, add gell, etc. I never get 2nd day hair.

Found NC in 2004. CG since 2-05, going grey since 9-05. 3B with some 3A.
Hair texture-medium/fine, porosity-normal except for the ends which are porous, elasticity-normal.
